I dont know his area but those types of roads would usually have a speed limit of 30mph (48kph) in my country. I doubt those roads are 60/65kph which he was doing! As I always say, if you're speeding then you're instantly at fault. People will judge things on how far away you are or not even be able to see you.

@@strictlyformyninja Techniques such as contersteering and engine breaking could have easily avoided this crash. We need to understand that the road is full of idiots like this truck driver and the only way to be safe is to learn about defensive techniques and more importantly pratice them so that we will apply them without even thinking about it. Just knowing what countersteering is will not help in a difficult sitiation. We have to pratice it! Having knowledge about "Target fixation" would have also helped avoid this crash. I recommened watching MotoJitsu youtube channel for anyone who wants to know more about what the fuk I'm talking about! Cheers! Ride safe! :)

Its in Australia. The speed is in Kilometers per hour. Various areas like he's in are mostly 50k's or 60k's. Either way you know large vehicles need more room to turn. Sit back relax.

@@holdenvtseries2274 is 65 greater than 50, if so, it's speeding. what point are you trying to make? in mph 50kph is 31mph (we'll move this to 30mph for a more common speed limit in that unit) and 65kmh is 40mph. in the UK (under the discretion of the local county) generally you're allowed to be a max of 10% over the posted speed limit before it becomes a problem, that means a max of 33mph. going 10 over like the guy in the video is at the very least is a mandatory speed awareness course (if not a repeat offender or if the police want to be lenient) and a fixed penalty. if repeat offense (or to the discretion of the police/courts) it's points on your license. if Australia which is the likely place of the video, it's even worse. if it's in Queensland, if more than 13kmh over the posted limit (but less than 20mph), it's a $275 fine and 3 detriment points in short, the guy in the video is a bellend that's speeding. you can't defend that

@@holdenvtseries2274 it's a pretty good excuse if a collision happened and they have the footage of the crash. the rider would most likely be deemed at fault (assuming there isn't specific laws that favours the rider, such as generally being a vehicle behind that rear ends another car being at fault regardless of what the car did in front). they could argue that if he was going the speed limit, the bus driver could have had ample opportunity to pull out safely. they then could argue that the bus driver didn't see the rider because of his excessive speed there's so many instances where a rider has been deemed at fault for something that under normal circumstances wouldn't be, but because they were found to be speeding at the time, that carries weight

Is quite funny how there are so many videos of bikers getting salty when a car moves next to them or passes close by, but then they proceed to ride mid lines between rows of cars. Not even mentioning cutting off or high speed transit (which could be dangerous for biker), just extremely low speed positioning.

Half the time bikers are driving aggressively just like everyone else on the road. Like splitting lanes then not letting someone in who is already making their lane change with their signal on. I'm saying you do not have to always push the issue. Being right will not keep you from getting killed by some other a-hole on the road. Riding on the sidewalk in a residential area is stupid too, especially when the roadway is open. If everybody backed off just one click, our commutes would majorly improve.

99.99% chance its kilometers. And based on that road it was most likely a 50 or 60 limit. He may have been slightly speeding but 10Kmph is like 6 Mph. Bus driver 100% still in the wrong. Had a large truck or other vehicle been coming even at 50 they wouldnt have had the room to move and it would have been an accident and the bus driver would have been at fault.

i dont understand why all these people riding bikes in these 3rd world countries and super dense urban areas are constantly getting mad about how other people drive. Its pure chaos out there with people driving however they want, bikes lane splitting and filtering, pedestrians, poorly designed roads. Its chaos for everyone, and its going to make for messy situations. Seems like the best coarse of action is to keep a calm head on your shoulders and just stay alert. Getting mad seems pointless. Move to a more civililzed or less dense area if you can't stand traffic so much.

From slow speeds to emergency maneuvers, clutching, up and down shifting, rear and front brakes and coordination when ALL 4 HANDS have something completely different to be doing AT THE SAME TIME... It's complicated enough just getting settled into riding a motorcycle. You'd think it was simpler to do than ride a regular bicycle, but it's not... TAKE YOUR TIME... I really wish we had to learn motorcycles in "classes" here in the States. I wouldn't have been a fan of it back in the day (when I was 15 and got my license)... BUT it would've been a LOT less stressful actually getting on the road... I'd have lost fewer friends to things like brain-damage, crippling injuries, amputations, family threatening to disown them for hanging with us bikers, and of course DEATH... Anything with two wheels is COOL, bro'... Keep the wheelie-side down and ride safe. Practice like your life depends on everything you do, because it does... ;o)

When I'm riding through small housing estate roads, and there are bus stop signs along it, I simply ride slowly, because: A) the roads are blind bends completely tight blind turns.. you just can't go fast, keep it 20mph or less. Doesn't matter if it's 30, most of the roads since 1998 have started to become 20 zones anyway. B) there are Buses driving round those bends, because the bus stop gives it away... C) Kids live there, it's their home, they play ball in the street, skateboard all sorts of games, I don't want to plow into a kid at 30-40mph killing them in the process, D) again, it's where people live, there will be cars pulling in/ reversing out. Pets darting out across the road. It's gonna be a death trap and unless you want to end up sailing over the hood of a car, to meet a nice bit of asphalt faceplant, you'd ride slowly too. The bus driver takes that route day in day out... he's gonna get complacent and that's bad on his part. The biker WAS going fast for the type of road environment. Again, complacency. We ALL do it. We get lazy. One thing we all need to remember is, and this came from my instructor when giving me my licence; Every day from now on, you are always on your driving test, remember that. That has always stuck in my mind. Also, "Take no prisoners", from a friend of mine also sticks in my mind too huehuehue :)

The human eye recognises possible threats when driving which means bigger vehicles than yours most of the time. Thats why many people dont "see" motorcycles. The eye sees them but the brain doesn't thing of anything so it dismiss them.

In my country we refer to reckless motor drivers as donors. Because 9/10 end up becoming spare parts in the first 3 years of driving like that. They either straighten up their act or if they are in the lucky 10% that survive crashes, just don't drive a motor anymore (paralysis, amputation, head trauma or the sheer fear of almost dying stopping them).
