You're kidding me. If that karate master is who I think he is ("Karate Dojo waKu") then he is someone who's channel that I tend to frequent from time to time. Japan must be a smaller country than I originally thought.

When I experienced real Shoto Kan after having trained for 3 years at University, I soon realised it was far more than a sport. I stopped as I did not feel it right to continue without the necessary dedication, and that was difficult when working in London.

Hola Marianna; I am a Karate student and I am surprised by you guys first class. Really good your level. I lived in Japan for a few months (do not know how do you managed to live there but is a dream for me) anyway; incredible but few weeks ago I chatted a bit with Yusuke San to may be next year train a bit with him... There are more than one place to train Karate (in daily or weekly basis) like the JKA in Bunkyo; Shotokai (not so far) and the Wado ryu. Regarding the KATA; that is not Heian shodan; is about 1/3 of Taikyoku shodan. Cheers

@MariannaVlogs5 жыл бұрын
In karate the belt is tied differently vs jiu jitsu.
@barrettokarate4 жыл бұрын
@@MariannaVlogs I've done karate, Japanese jujitsu and Brazilian jiu-jitsu for coming up on 30 years and no its not. Yes, there are different ways to tie you obi, but there is no specific standard for each style, just personal preference. For regular drilling I'll tie my obi in jiu-jitsu the same way I do in karate and jujitsu, unless I'm going to be doing a lot of newaza then I'll tie it a different way, specifically what's known as the "master lock" version. I'm not the only one, most of my training partners are both karateka and jiu-jitsu guys and they do the same thing. I've trained under the Gracies in LA and they would tie their belts "karate style" or "standard" sometimes too. Not trying to be an ass, that's just my experience. There is no style specific way of tying a belt...school specific maybe if that's what the instructor wants.
