Thanks for all of your questions, I only expected a few and the response has been excellent, I’ve tried to answer as many questions as possible from both here and over on IG. If I didn’t get to your one I am hoping to make this a monthly thing if this video does well so I’ll try to get to those that I didn’t in the next one 👍🏼 Hope you all enjoy 🥋🥋🥋

OSS Sensei, love your channel and your way of training. I’m 52! Started Shotokan Karate back in 1997 and weight training back in the mid 80s. I did notice that I’m not so flexible probably because I started Karate later on with the age of 24. Keep up the good work 💪

Thanks for answering the questions. ❤ I have seen some footage of yours (if I recall correctly) on the Kuro-Obi World Channel. How was that experience for you? And how did you end up with that opportunity?

My question is about discipline in the Dojo. How do you handle students that are chatting during drills or demonstrations?
@jkgardiner2 ай бұрын
I don’t tend to get that really, I think keeping a fast paced and engaging session is important to keep people focused on the class, I also like to have a relatively relaxed atmosphere as opposed to being overly strict, I think people learn better when they are relaxed and enjoying the class. Otherwise a quick reminder to be quiet while you are talking is fine. If it’s a problem that persists then a talk after class is in my opinion the best way to address the situation.

What do you think about koshiki karate as rules that can compare fighters from different karate-styles? Maybe that's fairer and more objective than WKF-rules or not? What's your opinion? What's the pluses and minuses of this rules?
@jkgardiner2 ай бұрын
@@kirillnovikov7925 I think that looks really good, WKF point scoring only favours the taller, longer reach and faster karateka but not necessarily the best fighter. I don’t know enough about Koshiki to talk about the rules but I like the idea of a more continuous full contact karate with protection

Sensei, does low stance give me more speed when i attack for example kizami or gyako zuki?
@jkgardiner2 ай бұрын
A good stance to be able to move fast from is low enough to engage the legs and have them primed like a spring, the classic front stance of karate is not the best for speed, but a shorter version with the back leg also slightly bent is better.

How is this mix: Boxing, lethwei, judo , karate( mainly its kicks) , Bjj. I am just training for to become strong, not to become a fighter. I am not trying to become of one, this is a hybrid style.
