Yeah, DB felt more "grounded" (more immersive/believable) because they used techniques to try and counter each other. Z started to become all about training and powerlevel (and later all about transformations&forms) forgetting the techniques most of the time. Super kinda brought some of that back.. it gave us a lot more variation but because of the scale it still is not as immersive as early DB was. For me all of them have been entertaining tho. Sure i had many strokes because of continuity fails but the fights always were good to watch... maybe not GT.. it had few decent scenes but the story wasn't well written. And now since super borrows various stuff from GT there really isn't a reason to watch GT anymore.. super does all that and more.

Meh. Even original Dragon Ball was about ki and mystical techniques, not actual fighting. Granted, the mystical techniques had weaknesses and counters, unlike DBZ where it’s just “whoever has a bigger number stomps.” But to call it “good use of real martial arts” is a joke, you might as well call stands from JoJo’s “good use of real martial arts.”

Essentially making them train morning till night with extreme intensity minus meals, brain training, and a short a nap in between. So to give you some context Seth, Krillin was the real world equivalent of a shaolin warrior monk child training in kung fu at a place called orin temple since he was about 4 or 5 and goku was trained under his adoptive grandfather gohan who was a Kung Fu prodigy and a practicing advocate of the Kame Sen Dō which focuses on extreme training on a cardiovascular level, and a similar to how shaolin warrior monks train but a bit more intense as it would be the kind of training one would receive after having already trained for 8 years or so everyday to get to that superhuman level in krillins case, but in gokus case he had a natural disposition for combat as his alien species were evolutionarily built for fighting so by the time of their fight in this video they've been not only extreme training by the tenets of the Kame Sen Dō which is to Move well, study well, play well, eat well, and rest well all of these tenets followed by the training they underwent already at superhuman levels they used 44 lbs turtle shell vests for endurance training and resistance for 7 months and for 1 more month they would double the weight of the turtle shells to be at 88 lbs, they would take the shells off for sleep (which includes full night sleep and naps through the day) and bathing of course.

The scene from the end with the kids in red that is from the first Dragon Ball series, The black hair kid is the protagonist Goku, and the bold one is called Krillin, is his best friend and both trained together with the same master and the fight is part of the 22th Martial Arts Tournament (which is actually the 2nd one we see in the series) which there's one in between each season or arc. The first Dragon Ball with gradually and sometimes even early on was the more down to earth in terms on shenanigans on fights, since by the time of the second series Dragon Ball Z, the power creep starts going off the scale exponentially.

The "Dissappearing" thing in the Dragonball fight was what they call an "Afterimage" - Krillin moved aside so fast that for a short moment it seemed he hadn't moved. Krillin and Goku are about 7 years old at this stage of the original Dragonball.

I'm actually really surprised that you didn't watch any Dragon Ball despite having watched some of Z. I think there are a few things from the show which can account for some of what you mentioned. 1) 9:35 Their assumed stances are similar because they were and are at this part in the series taught by the same person. 2) 11:07 I think Goku is in his middle teens by this point? I could be wrong about that. Krillin (baldy) is similarly young, possibly a year or two younger. They are prodigies in their story. 3) 11:46 This is called an afterimage/after image. I think it's one of the most stupid things that exists in early Dragon Ball. Krillin has already moved away from that spot but he apparently moved so fast that his image was still there for a short time. 4) 12:27 Yes. That is the panda from before. 5) 13:00 More afterimages. I don't know why the creators thought this technique was so cool in the original show but it essentially disappears by the time Z comes around and gradually comes back around midway through the series.
@zootchs.8991

@guycoolSpore2

@@Amartin-mu6oj It's literally the most boring skill in canon and it also makes no fucking sense. If you aren't there, then you aren't there. Why would an image of you maintain its position for literal seconds after you're no longer in its place? It's not even a ki-based ability, since in universe it's just what's left behind by someone moving fast enough. In theory, every fight scene should be a mess of the different characters' outfits and flesh being continuously amalgamated into afterimages for seconds at a time, leaving hideous trails of stretched fabric and skin behind where the characters' actual positions are. However, what actually happened is the characters relayed the information that the afterimage is inherent to just moving quickly, and it's only ever present when the writers feel like it should be.

Context for Krillin disappearing: Kuririn (Krillin) performed the after image--a technique involving extremely quick footwork to make it seem as if you disappear. Krillin and Goku can perform it to such a degree they can literally move faster than the normal eye can see, but an eerie tapping sound of their feet remains. Eventually Goku moves so fast there are no sound indicators of his footwork, so its impressive until everyone can fly lol.

You should add the names of each anime somewhere in the description of the video in case someone wants to check some of them out...not me..but definitely someone..

Goku defeats Krillin by striking him with eight punches and a side kick that are so fast to the audience they think that all Goku did was make a face to startle Krillin out of the ring. The character Tien clarifies this after the fight

I laughed when he looked if the muscles are right in a scene of BAKI. :D

I had a ton of fun watching these. I think I'd watch every video you put out with anime fight reacts. Check out Tien vs. Roshi. Especially when they stop using tricks and do more hand to hand. Or Goku vs cell and Goku vs. Majin Vegeta in Z. Other great ones would be Ryu vs. Fei Long in the Animated Street Fighter movie and Spike vs. Vincent from the Cowboy bebop movie. Trust me.

Kenichi has a ton vs a boxer, tae kwan do, muay thai. There's lots of training with karate too that Seth might enjoy. It starts pretty grounded but gets crazy later on.

Funny how at @1:37 Seth was trying to figure out what happened to Shunsei. It just goes to show that if Seth were in the anime, he probably would've gotten clipped by Baki's punch too 😂😅
