As someone who did ninjutsu for 5 years, ninjutsu is not just katana techniques it’s jutsus like shi no kata, ka no kata, sui no kata but also mobility, agility, sneak attacks, poisons, sabotage, infiltration and many more but yeah also weapons especially katana so Naruto techniques are inspired of it but the jutsus in Naruto came from the shinobi’s sign language if I remember well and the ninja turtles are more reliable by the techniques and the skills

This IS a very fun video, but not really a fair comparison. I was in the Bujinkan for over 10 years (nidan), and we did do a lot of weapons, but it was mostly unarmed stuff. Karate, of course, also has weapons. I think it would be more accurate to either show both unarmed or both weapons.
@RyuH23455238 ай бұрын

The equivalent of Karate in Ninjutsu (Ninpo/Shinobijutsu) is Taijutsu. It contains many ways (jutsu). Dakentaijutsu (strikes), Koppojutsu (bone attacks), Koshijutsu (nerve attacks), Jutaijutsu (throwing, locks, and chokes), and Taihenjutsu (avoidance). So comparing Karate to Ninjutsu sword techniques is a bit of a non-starter for me.

Similar swords to a "ninjato" have been discovered in history, but not at the same time as the katana. The katana with the curve was designed to draw and cut in the same motion. A superior design. The idea of ninjas using a straight, shorter blade came from the fact that they didn't hold the katana as sacred like the samurai did. Therefore, when they'd take an enemies sword, often they'd chop off a portion of the end which made it shorter and faster to draw. It also made it appear straighter because the sori or curve of the blade is more pronounced at the end.

It’s like comparing an mma fighter and an army ranger . Karate is a pretty much Japanese wu-shu gymnastic and ninjas are warrior clan that lived , slbreathing ninjutsu from the day they’re born and training started at at the age of 2 months old. They hanged a baby crib off the tree branch and swung it so it can hit the tree trunk . Baby learned when to expect the impact and tightened up . After some time a baby was hanging on it by himself and parents swung him the exact same way . So baby to soften the impact learned to stick out the foot or extend his arms and he basically learned blocking things naturally with mothers milk . It was all through tears and bruises but they didn’t get em ready to go some public school in a bad neighborhood. The amount of knowledge those kids possessed by the age of 15 yo , most people don’t learn in the whole lifetime . I’m not even talking about martial arts aspect of it. And today you can talk to a group of 30 year olds and none of them went camping . It’s unbelievable to me 😂 Anyways , Kyokushin-Kai is the only dangerous style on its own. The problem with karate is wooden hands 🙌 no facial punches . If you constantly compete, you target same areas in a street fight and often you can’t kick because it’s sleepery. Bjj isn’t good either . One on one yes but on the street never go to to the ground . Try not to . Even if you’re Nate Diaz , his friends will crack a bottle off your scull while you’re mounting one ☝️ thinking you’re winning . If it’s not practical, it’s useless . You all saw kung fu masters that get their butts whooped

My teacher taught us many unarmed techniques, some obviously used in karate. Any weapons were taught principly as an extension to the body. But key was adaptability, working with what you know and using what the situation and environment offers you. Sure, we could use wristlocks and the like to control an attacker and yes my teacher was the koppojutsu guy and generally offered some savage possibilities to end a demonstrated technique - think "Finish him!" - but he also taught that not every fight should be embraced and sometimes it is better to defend and run.
