Yusuke Sensei, thank you so much for your content, I've been struggling with very vague descriptions of the proportions of Zenkutsu dachi for a long time now and this was just what I needed! If I may, your pronunciation of groin is a little bit off 😉 to me it sounds like you're saying grow-in, to a native English speaker, groin rhymes with coin. Oss!

Please do a movement video as mentioned in this clip. Your information is very intriguing, this is the first time I have heard not to have the back foot on an angle but facing forwards. I would like to hear your view on movement. Many dojos teach you bring your back foot in together with your front then back out but a couple others say not to do this now. There seems to be no consistency.

Im a begginer (trying to learn from youtube classes) and I felt disconfortable doing the Zenkutsu Dachi because of my knees, and I couldnt really have a srong base. My mistakes was that too much lenght and my back was not straight correctly. Great video, helped a lot!

Thank you for this video, I've only started teaching karate about a year ago after training on & off for 35 years and I've been pushing all the points that you mention but in our Dojo we have a lot of beginners (under 6 months of training) so what I've learnt is to maybe not focus on all the points to start with and slowly bring in different points as the students develop. Once again thank you.

Holy crap. I am a novice, and been watching your stance videos. Thank you so much for the explicit detail; it helps, keep doing it the way you do. Seriously, thank you so much! In your explanations, your always touch back on the reason something is done the way it's done, that not only makes me remember why I should focus on certain things, but it also gives me purpose and meaning when I'm training kihon or kata, I don't feel like I'm aimlessly moving around.

Waking up the pelvis, I like that terminology. It's a great analogy for using body movement.

Should my back foot have a 45 degree angle or straight as you say? My instructor says otherwise . I feel that the straight foot on the back is more stable and reduces knee pain significantly…

Thank you for very inetersting film. Ok I should traditionally push heel down for instance by gyaku tsuki. It is a version from katas. But what about kumite when I want to transfer more power forward and tear off my heel. I have to push this time not my heel but footpads. Is it right?
