I lost friends during that period and have memories of being rushed to safety out of areas while the police ran into the danger. I saw bombs in vehicles that didn't care who they killed. Male or female,adult or child Prodestant or Roman Catholic. Bombs left in cars and vans parked by the side of the road by terrorists. The police wives couldn't put their uniform shirts on washing lines in case they were identified as police. Very brave women and men.

@@johntheball Not IMO- the only area the G3 is superior is plain, ruggedness. It is a tank of a German rifle. The SLR- FN FAL- is the definition of a post WW2 Battle rifle. Part of that definition is the rifle is .30 calibre(more or less).
