Correct. The only other shot you could consider unstopable would Chamberlains dunkshot, although I once saw Russell actually block a Chamberlain dunk!!! Only guy I ever saw do that. Can you Imagine blocking a dunk? Only Russell would do that........

Kareem had, in my opinion, the most dangerous weapon in sports history. People might say Sandy Koufax's curve ball, Barry Sanders' ability to virtually teleport down the field or even Mike Tyson's uppercut. But nothing beats that sky hook. A thing of beauty.

+Thias176 What greats from the 2000's are you talking about? By the players you referenced you must be talking centers. Lmfao Dwight Howard? Yao Ming? Andrew Bynum? There are no skilled bigs in the 2000's other than Shaq and he was mostly size over skill. Idk what your smoking but what ever it is, pass that shit. Today's NBA Bigs would get slaughtered by anyone one of those players you just named especially Kareem. Kareem was one of the fastest, most athletic skilled big men this league has ever seen. You must be talking out your ass. I guarantee your like 12 years old..

Clearly this man was incredibly great as were other bigs through the ages sometimes makes me honestly wonder: why are they NEVER in the g.o.a.t. discussion? I know they can't take the ball from up top at the he close of games, but clearly they could still close games and the overall impact of a guy like him or Shaq or Hakeem is pretty damn great.. Bigs are under appreciated

That was in October 1969, before Wilt had his knee injury (Wilt's injury was in december 1969 or early 1970). It's just unstoppable when Kareem does his sky hook. He's got his back to the basket and gets the ball. Is he going to do a turn around jumper? No. Is he going to do a fade away? No. Is he going to drive to the basket and dunk? No. He's gonna do a sky hook and you know it. Still, there's not much you can do to stop it.

Fun fact: both Kareem and Bill Walton lied about their heights... It was a UCLA trick to intimidate opponents, who would come to the games expecting them to be shorter and then once you get into the game they seem larger than life, and its because they are. Walton was listed at 6 11, but was actually 7'2, and Kareem was listed at 7'2 but couldnt have been shorter than 7'4.

Also, Walton often said 6'11" is tall, but 7ft is a freak. Another fun anecdote: When Wilt first faced Kareem professionally, he is alleged to have said, "How can someone that f*cking tall be that f*cking good?"

+TheKappa The better basketball player was Kareem Abdul Jabbar, i think Wilt, Bill, Jordan, were better athletes, but they weren't better basketball players. These 3 players were better defensive players than Kareem, but offesively i think Jabbar was the most gifted. If they played a one on one against each other i think only Olajuwon would beat Jabbar, but because Olajuwon was stronger and had offensive skills (Jabbar had the sky hook and was faster than Olajuwon). Personally my favourite players are Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell. I don't like Jordan because of the hype and the fanboys, but i must admit that he was the best basketball player before Kobe Bryant (more talented than Jordan) and LeBron James (better athlete than Jordan). So my final veredict is that they are all goats, you are right.

+DATNIGGAMINK hahaha he said Kobe is more talented than Jordan. Also LeBron is just bigger than Jordan. He's not faster, quicker or higher jumping. He also has smaller hands than Jordan. Whatever, he clearly shows his age if the only reason he doesn't "like" Jordan is because of Hype and fan boys. Clearly never saw him play if he thinks it's "hype." Oh and Kareem was apparently faster than Hakeem and Hakeem was stronger than him? Geez...though i guess he could have easily gotten that one flipped and he meant the reverse.

I wish I was tall, yes I'm still 14 but I'd love to just drive to the rim or post up. But my ass over here with the next generation shooting 1-13+ from deep and not playing team ball. Basketball in the next generation of the NBA is just gonna be ball hogging, trying to snap ankles, and trying to be cheese from deep.
