We shouldn’t ever assume someone is violent or a criminal due to mental illness. In addition, those with antisocial personality disorders are similar (most don’t offend) but they do make up a disproportionate amount of the prison population in comparison to their global population.

Ive had patients like that at work, had one ask me completely straight faced how i justified working in the hospital while the experiments were being conducted on the babies in the basement. The hospital did not have a basement, did not admit children, did not even deliver babies. And theres literally nothing you can say to them. Its terrifying and also so upsetting for them. Imagine just having that in your brain all the time and youre convinced its true.

Yeah I think it really depends where you end up in that situation. New York is terrible, they make their benches so uncomfortable that they are just decorations Yeah benches, decorations. Tf. Very welcoming. Could almost bring the city to court for murder lol. Time matters too, winters where I'm at can be nice or really bad. And then there's Virginia and Colorado, where every homeless person I came across was very combative. They'd insult you while asking for help. I'm glad that I rarely see anyone where I'm at. And when I do they are very nice people, which means the people around here haven't beaten them down emotionally like cities. It's sad man, people have all kinds of stories and don't deserve less decency just because they can't afford the 400$ Nikes they get kicked down with.

I'm homeless now and I have been the past two years. I lost three jobs here in Southern California due to company shut downs and layoffs and it's so incredibly expensive to live here. The gas is over five dollars a gallon. You buy one or two bags of groceries and pay over $160 if not more than that it's just impossible to live anywhere, but California is by far the worst. Thank the Lord that I have my car that I can sleep in even though it's small it's a blessing because it provides me the shelter from being outside where I can be sexually assaulted and I never wanna go through that again. This woman was so awful, but I also believe she is schizophrenic because she exhibits the behaviors and verbal to be someone that suffers from schizophrenia. She does need to be put into a mental institution because people with that psychotic illness only get worse as they get older and they don't like taking medication and they don't take their medication is when they act like this. So this brings awareness to two important topics that need to be addressed which is homelessness and mental illness. Those are taking care of as they should have already been, and once the inflation goes down, which needs to happen very soon, things will be a lot different for so many people who are struggling out here, including myself.

Shutting down asylums was the worst thing we did for mental health in America. Granted it was mostly because of criminally insane doctors practicing on people with mental health issues, but you don't destroy the only infrastructure for these people just to remove bad doctors. Setup an HR department and replace the bad Doctors... The fact that people like this woman are everywhere is disturbing. He did this to over a dozen houses til the police tried to apprehend him. He ran off and tried to set this walk-in area of the local college on fire but luckily I think they said the area he started to burn wasn’t burning and he was caught on camera and the school security along with the police caught him. The guy was such a menace to the city. I think he got a few years since burning mail is a federal crime

Homelessness in the US is a problem that I think is particularly indicative of some fundamental issues we have as a society. We fundamentally (mostly) agree that homelessness should be an issue we solve but we've focused non-stop on punishing and demonizing the homeless instead of tackling the root socio-economic issues (lack of good pay and wages, affordable housing, better healthcare infrastructure including mental health care and addiction treatment, public transportation networks so people don't HAVE to need a car to get anywhere etc.). We keep attacking the symptom of the problem (the homeless) instead of the root causes because it's easier and gives people la power-trip because they can get some semblance of control themselves.

This chick reminds me of some chick that was my dad’s friend. My first interaction with this woman was that she just entered my house, handed me a Dairy Queen burger and told me my dad asked her to give it to me. They have to wait there until the police from that jurisdiction arrives to make the official arrest. In many states it has to be a felony that is being committed.

@7:30 I ran the Food Not Bombs in Middletown, CT years ago, so I got to know the local homeless people. It is a thing to have a job but still not make enough for housing. They can afford clothes and shoes and a meal, just not rent. They look "normal" just very poor. They are there with the addicts and elderly with no living relatives to look after them. They keep a tight community (know each other) and fear transients on suspicion that they may be "on the run". It's a rough existence.

Unfortunately she isnt lying. This lady is Kolbi Kathleen Odom, aka Kolbi Armendariz. Her daughters name was Stevi Kathleen Odom-Lynch. Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico. Stevi was shot and struck with a tire iron, and found dead by an oilfield road in Eddy County. New Mexico. Two arrests were made. February 2021. Something about the way she spoke about this told me she was telling either partial or full truth. And like she says in the video it was on Kinkade Road.

As a schizo myself, i will say it helps to not talk with, to, or acknowledge the voices. Ive seen a lot of homeless people who have full on conversations with someone only they can see. Medication helps. But if anyone else diagnosed with schizophrenia sees this, keep your sanity and do not engage with what you see or hear. Find cues if needed.

I appreciate how calm and patient these police officers were, I think she has had some tragic thing, whether it is her daughter or something happen in her life and it has grown worse. I hope she gets the help she needs ,But she did need to be arrested as she became such a danger to those homeless people and she could end up harming herself. Also those poor homeless people, how terrifying would it be to suddenly wake up to someone trying to set you on fire! They're just struggling to get by the best way they can and then this happens 😮. I would be scared to stay there, but where else would they go?
