Just the right level of weary, mournful, and hopeful. Heartbreaking.

a song we all in need at this time we as world need a reason to believe in something. Just beautiful poetry

Everything she sings is so much her. She could never cope with a large stage, just close up and personal. My favourite female singer, and that really is saying something.

Her voice is the sound of heartbreak

Her voice sounds so genuinely hurt and betrayed. It's amazing and heartbreaking at the same time.

I myself play and sing songs from Tim but this version tears my heart apart..... I am dying while I listen and it feels good.....

Grief & Beauty. Nobody touches the heart like Karen...

Tim wrote some truly beautiful, soulful songs. Karen's voice has a similar fragility as he... great version.

Her "smoke and whiskey" voice instantly grabbed me. Reminds me a bit of Lucinda WIlliams. RIP Karen.

How I would have treasured to see a concert with Tim Hardin, Fred Neil, Tim Buckley, Karen Dalton and Richard Farina.. maybe throw in Kate Wolf and Jackson C., Frank and John Martyn, and Martin Lamble.. was lucky to have seen Sandy Denny, Licorice (Incredible String Band) or they would be on my super rare list of performers

Boy she is really growing on me. I never heard of her till about a year ago and I didn't like her voice at all. Now I hear so much in it. It gets me deep.

When I first heard in the seventies Karen's version of Something on your mind I burst into tears. This version of Tim Hardin's song is moving as well. Karen is like a miracle !! 50 years after she's still unique and unsurpassed ! In the authenticity still you have Antony and the Johnsons who gave me also shivers like Karen

Same for me as well. Every couple days I find myself going back to her Gems.

Holy crap. My friend Ryan showed me this song while I was going thru some sh*t and it's really amazing. I don't even know how to explain how it makes me feel. I'm really glad he decided to share it with me. After hearing it once it immediately became one of my absolute favourite songs

Tommy - you didn't mention that Hardin was only 39 years old at the time of his death in 1980. What a waste of a powerful musical life, lost to the all controlling 'lady horse.' Regards.

This is impressive, it does not replace the original by Tim Hardin, but obliterates the Rod Stewart version
@reelincoln774711 ай бұрын
They are all good (it’s actually Stewart ‘s best vocal). Great song, Tim.

Said to be Bob Dylan's favorite singer, Karen lived and sang from the depths of her soul. Hard to believe she had to die alone in a house trailer like that.
