I had to deal with such confusion at least once a week from 2004-2008 when I worked at Kmart. Mostly it was moms and grandmas and aunts buying games for kids and not knowing or understanding that all of the consoles are different and play different games. Thankfully they were all mature and reasonable people and let me help them, most commenting me afterwards and applauding my knowledge of the products. I did literally have one say she wanted a Mario game for the Xbox, but the game she wanted was Mario Sunshine for GameCube and with the somewhat-similar names got the consoles confused and when I pointed it out, she just laughed. Now I'm not trying to stereotype here, but never once did I have this conversation with male customers no matter how old. A guy in his 80s came in to buy a PS2 and a GTA game (I think Vice City). As I'm ringing him up I ask if it's for a grandson and he says "No, this is for me. My last one got stolen and this is the best stress-reliever I've found since I retired from the post office." I wish I was making that up.

I worked an electronic store and remember getting interactions like that Karen. We also hade DVD's in our department too, which was the main area I worked. One day I had a customer ask for History of the World part 2. I told them that is a movie that was never made and they argued that it was. I had to lie and say maybe it wasn't available on DVD yet. to the first story, you could probably find a cracked version on the playstation but good luck with that. I know if you can find a decent emulator you can play pretty much whatever you want on the pc, and i also know modders and hackers are capable of weird and crazy things. As for the last story, there are a couple of easy fixes. One, take a break. No need to dump her completely just tell her you want a few months to yourself and see if she improves on her own. Two, force her to change. She's completely reliant on you for everything so start making ridiculous demands and threatening to cut her off if she disagrees. This will result in one of two things, either she'll get fed up with it and grow a spine, at which point you can go "sorry baby, but i was putting on an act for your own good" or you'll end up with a slave...in that case, milk it for all it's worth and enjoy.

Story 1: Super Mario Brothers was actually planned to release on the CD-i as Super Mario's Wacky Worlds and did release as Hotel Mario but Super Mario's Wacky Worlds was abandoned. Needless to say it didn't do well. It was one of the main failures of the CD-i along with the staggering price of $700 plus like $80 for the game.

This will probably be an unpopular opinion. But in the second story. The wife is being dramatic and toxic herself. I get hurtful things were said. But the wife blocked and refuses to talk to the mom. How can the mom try and apologize? Also, she can't be super supportive of you staying in contact with her, along with your kids. Then turn around being dramatic with this two week exilement. I agree with you that this is probably more on the wife this time than the mother. It doesn't sound like the mother has done anything wrong these past 7 years to her, OP or the kids. I do think it was wrong of OP and the mom to book the mom a ticket before having any kind of arrangements for her stay in place. Not AH material, but just poor planning. It's fine if she doesn't want to interact with the MIL because of bad blood, but this seems like extreme overkill. Going so far as to not even be seen on camera and not being able to see her? I have to say the woman trying to get a cup of soup. Her behavior was completely inappropriate, but for the card to not say approved, but still get charged is actually possible. Me and my family took a trip to Texas and we went to go stay at a hotel and they were telling us the same thing. They said that my dad‘s card was getting declined, but when he checked his bank statements while still in the lobby. The card got charged twice even though they kept saying the card was declined and we needed to find somewhere else and the machine the bank was saying something completely different on the app so it’s not completely out there that the ladies card got charged

Let's say Super Mario Brothers is on the Playstation and the original poster, their coworker, and the department manager were stealing the game and selling them online at double the cost. For the first story, the only Mario game that exists on the PlayStation 4 is the one featuring sonic as well. I'm wondering if that is the trailer that she potentially saw or if she truly did have the company mistaken.
