The last story: OP needs to leave. The reason why it feels like a switch flipped, is because his narcissistic mask known as his false self has slipped. This isn't encouragement, humor or stating the facts. This is toxic behavior. Specifically, she is experiencing varying levels of narcissistic abuse at her fiance's hands that he's trying to pass off as encouragement. OP fell for him because of love bombing. Now her fiance has now moved onto the devaluing stage where emotional, psychological and verbal abuse all play a very big part. Of course, he tries to brush it off as he is just kidding, that OP is too sensitive and needs to learn how to take a joke. He's dismissing her feelings that way he can clear his conscience. Saying that she's looking for reasons to leave him now that she's thin and attractive, that's pure projection and deflection. OP absolutely deserves better. I would seriously think long and hard before she lets him coerce her into walking down the aisle.

last story: I pray that OP runs from that relationship long before the effort of a wedding and never looks back. Not only are the comments uncalled for but the complete disregard for their feelings on the matter, whatever the jerk's intentions were. Story 4: my dad has been with my stepmom since i was 4, and only recently have I (21y) been able to call her mom. No one ever pushed me, aand I was fine with her calling my sister and I her daughters, which she has been doing since I was 11. If anyone had tried to force these things on me, I would have pushed back. My stepmom is the one I went to when I felt like I couldn't go to anyone else, and I think part of that is because I didn't call her mom. She has always been my closest confidante, and it would’ve sucked if anything was forced. All i'm trying to say is that OP is doing fine where she is, and the dad is out of line.

Story 1: The Karen should've called the cops....so she can get charged with wasting police time/resources. Karen's love to use that as an empty threat, so i would've called her bluff on it too. Good on the OP and the other soccer coach for not only telling her off, but making sure they did have the field space until a certain time. Next time, i would print off the specific dates/times and if this stupid Karen comes back again, show it to her. Story 2: Nothing wrong with being single at any age. Don't settle and wait until you find the perfect one for yourself. I think its only a matter of time before the OPs parents will start pulling the "Why wont you give us grandchildren" line soon. Story 3: Of course, EVERYONE is soooooo rude, but not the Karen. Typical really.... but that zinger of 'manners are in aisle 4' really cracked me up. That was a great comeback. Story 4: I think the OP is handling this well, and the husband could be handling this better. I think that there might be some serious tension between the husband and his ex, the mother of his older kids, that wasn't mentioned and that is where some of this could be coming from. Last story, run, do not walk, run away from this jerk. He is now intimidated by the fact that you look so good. He will continue to verbally and emotionally abuse you and probably start to escalate. This is classic abusive behavior. Often, but not always this is how they lead into physical abuse. Starting with a push or a slap on the arm or leg. Story #4 about the dad. Sometimes dad’s get to play good cop more often than the mom. It depends on the house. The kids sound good and the step-mom seems to have assumed the role of non-evil stepmother offering friendship. He might feel like the bad cop / sole parent on his side and resents not being in the role of perpetual good cop. The issue is likely his. Also, if he has issues that his ex is setting or permitting with the kids, he has to be the bad guy in rolling back freedoms or changing the parenting culture. I can easily see that I’m more open and allow more than my wife. I like my kids to learn by thinking and talking rather than by blindly following arbitrary rules. If don’t like to let my kids eat sugar cereal in the morning, but my wife buys it and a few times a month they eat it. If one of our kids wants to eat a very small bowl of ice cream one time because they accidentally brushed their teeth on a night we had promised ice cream, I’ll allow it because the nutrition of sugar cereal is about the same as ice cream. My wife would see it as breaking her rules. (But not mine). It’s a bad example, but I think he wants he wants to be the fun one and make the step mom the bad cop some of the time. He might also wish his ex enforced his views. His issue

Story 1 What the hell? It's a child's soccer game. By the sounds of it, she probably was supposed to be there at 6 BUT decided either she sucks at telling time or wanted to do things early. Glad it didn't blow too out of hand Story 2 You're a full grown adult. Not even a new adult, a full blown already been this way for a few years adult. You do NOT have to date immediately and you do NOT have to stay with whoever you do decide to. Karen wants to call the police over a kids soccer game? Karen has severe issues. Mom and dad are obsessed over their daughter, what she wears, or how she acts. Mom and Dad need to get their heads out of their asses and get a freaking life. Making a life of bugging their daughter about what she does or wears shows me they have no sense of boundaries and are clearly going into their daughters. They have NO respect for their daughter, and that is SO wrong on many levels.
