Story 1: Wow, all this crap over a handwashing course? Seriously?!? Thank god this Karen was eventually fired. She was such a rude malcontent here its not even funny. You really have to wonder how people like that get hired and why bosses/managers even bother to listen to them when all they do is whine and gripe. Hopefully the OP is at a much better job now. Story 2: I'll say my favorite 4 words here of 'Right To Refuse Service' again here. Is it really that big of a deal to not be seated in the regular dining room? Come on people. Well, at least they left on their own here. Story 3: Is this the result of the mother being clinically depressed and cant control her actions, or a case of the mother being a manipulative, gaslighting, narcissistic jerk? From things told here, im guessing it is the latter. Story 4: Once again, "Right To Refuse Service" should've been used here. That Karen was just being rude on the phone and in person for no good reason. I think the OP's line of "Old Metairie" to describe the school was actually quite smart and clever and a good way to tell them apart, since there are 2 similar yet seperate locations. That Karen shouldve been banned for all of this. Also, im pretty sure the OP has legal grounds to sue the one manager here for disclosing to the Karen that they had autism. Im pretty sure that that is illegal and sheer discrimination.... not to mention the other violations. Also, major shame on all of those people that were mocking the OP in their manager meeting. Seriously, what is wrong with those people? Glad the OP is away from that awful job and is doing better now, but i definitely would've been looking at some kind of legal action against them.

story 3: Ok, let's get something straight here, having clinical depression is NOT an excuse to be a terrible person and you're behavior is 100% your own fault if you refuse to seek help. OP needs to realize that it's gone passed the point of accommodating their mother's mental illness to the point of the mother using a diagnosis as an excuse to be abusive.

Story 2: The family should be ashamed of themselves. I don't know where the restaurant in the story is, but in the United States, the age to sit in a bar area is 21 good for op for standing his ground, because of them the resturant didn't get in trouble. Story 4: As someone on the spectrum. what the supervisor did was unacceptable. Just because someone's autistic doesn't mean they can't do their job well. People who are neurotypical make mistakes too. The supervisor should be ashamed for using Op's autism as an excuse for not dealing with Karen's complaints. I'm glad op is out of his job.

I wanna say that where people under 21 can sit in a restaurant that includes a bar varies from state to state. The answer was definitely "no" in the state I lived in when I was a child--the bar had to either be in a separate room, or else in a part of the room physically separated from the rest of the dining area (a line on the floor wasn't enough, but a half-wall and staircase was), but I've traveled to a few states where the bar was _not_ separated from the rest of the dining room at all, but people under 21 were still allowed to dine at the tables.

Except the thing the OP tries to say the family wants them to help commit a crime well seeing as it is a restaurant it wouldn’t be a crime it would be different if it was just a bar but it isn’t it is a restaurant with a bar

@@MarsJenkar it doesn’t matter what state it’s in in every state if it is a restaurant that has a bar children are allowed to be there if it is dark out they are not allowed to sit at the bar but they cannot be denied entry into the restaurant because the restaurant has a bar and they have children the restaurant can get in trouble for that

I'm autistic myself. And I do volunteer work for the BHF. I got a couple who wanted to know about this Table if it folded upward, which I told them that it only folds inward. They're Russian so the Woman had an App that can translate their language into English, and what she said was "Can you get someone special to tell us if the Table fold upward". A polite way of saying " Can you go get me someone who is paid staff because I do not trust the word of a Volunteer". So with a smile and a "Of course madam" I went to get my Manager, filling him on what happened which he went and told them EXACTLY what I said. After that I just carried on walking on the shop Floor while staying away from them because apparently I'm not SPECIAL enough to serve them. Should have told her "I'm autistic Love, you cannot get anymore SPECIAL than that". But of course due to my nature I just kept that to myself as being a Nice Human opens more doors than those who are complete A-Holes.

I wanna ask where in America did that bar story take place if in America. Because I live in California and there was a time where me and my family went to a restaurant and the only available seating was in the bar area. And I did ask because I was like 10 or 11 isn’t that illegal? They said it’s not illegal for a child to sit in a bar or being a bar it’s just illegal for them to get alcohol.

French doesn't eat anything Karen, they eat tasty things. That's why our gastronomy is registered at the UNESCO XD. We are gastronomically curious too. But that doesn't mean we will eat something suspicious or disgusting. And more than that, we are not all the same (I hate snails with a passion, my sister loves them. It is an holyday (Christmas or new year) meal btw, we don't eat it every day).

I have a similar story as the last one(which I'll submit one day), and it is from said personal experience that EVERYTHING that happened in that situation was ALL that Karen's fault. One HUGE con about customer service jobs is that there are some people who have their own sense of professionalism & normality, & they let those senses go so far to their heads, that any form of otherwise is considered blasphemous to humanity, let alone the workforce. That's that type of attitude that begets Entitlement. OP, & in fact that whole restaurant, just happened to make contact with such a customer. Regardless of the manager's choice that went against Company Policy like that, it wouldn't have mattered anyway. They just didn't know how far she would escalate her disapproval over the actions of but one. If Karen had just given her opinion about it, & left it at that, none of this would've happened.

The karen in the first story is not wrong in medical settings those annoying tedious training are not optional they are often required by the state to continue getting government funding. She sounds annoying but she shouldn't have been fired by some corrupt site manager

Unfortunately, in a case like this, the law is the law, and if someone reports it, the restaurant will be in big trouble. Even if the law is stupid it's just not worth the risk to defy it.

One thing I’m curious about is it a bar or a restaurant that has a bar because if it is a restaurant that has a bar you are refusing to serve them not to mention according to federal law all bars during the day are allowed to have children at night they are not it is also different if it is a restaurant that has a bar because then under the large classified as a restaurant that we regardless of the time of day children are allowed there so it’s a bar at night it is not illegal

STORY TIMEE so apparently there was this guy and I forgot his name or if he was a friend or family member of my step dad's but him mom ended up getting together with this meth addict that was treating him (we will call the boy jay) and his mom like shit,but this guy had a guinea pig that he ADORED. So one day Jay took the guinea pig, went to his friend's house, and gave this guinea pig to his friend's snake as lunch, when the guy found out his rodent was eaten by the snake he left his mom

That's awful. Jay is a disgusting sorry excuse of a human being for doing that to an innocent animal. It's not the guinea's fault their owner was trash. Jay needs a kick in the ass. He could have just hid the animal at a friends, lied about feeding it to a snake and got the same result without hurting an innocent.

I can’t find the video I’m looking for…I’m here from the podcast version of AITA. But anyway…this is about the story about the pregnant wife who made her husband leave the reception. Dumb responses like the one you gave are the reason you need women on this show. You’re going to tell a pregnant wife that she’s manipulative for telling her husband she wants him to leave a party with her because she doesn’t feel well?! Last time I checked, when one is pregnant you both act accordingly! And then you went on to talk about heartburn medicine and how that should have been enough? Gtfo. Do better. I was a fan.
