I'm glad I left that job, because they wouldn't fire her. Second story, I'm sooooo lucky my parents actually encouraged me to finish school/college on time. They said "Look, working on weekends is all we suggest. Focus on school, and just take it step by step."

I inherited an employee like that when I became a department head at my current company. Dude just didn't come back from remote work despite the hands-on nature of our profession. I tolerated that behaviour for half a year before I incited work law which demands remote workers be on the job in 4 hours if the department head demands it. If refused three times, it's an automatic firing with 2 months severance. Difference is I didn't need him, the department was doing fine without his involvement.

2nd story if this honor programs allow graduate early than it would much lost costing than going through normal which means your parents may put into situations where student debt will never be gone as result I would recommend moving out to anyone else who also taking program that may taking summer classes as well so be no extra expense and def be better than living with parents during this whole ordeal as sound like your dad will attempt to overthrow you life in order get you work for him.

Industry experience is very valuable though. Maybe OP could consider deferring for 1 year and take the summer classes next summer and just graduate 1 year later. There’s no point in taking a course if you don’t get industry experience before it ends

Both guys claimed that it had an impact on their work performance and they lost some money. Obviously they lost but still, owner decided to change it. I disagree with the conclusion for #2 because I am 33 right now... as long as your dad's company is a stepping stone for what you want to do. Degrees are not nearly as profitable as they seem, But experience is invaluable.

I know hr can fire people but since when is it up to them to be the only ones who can fire someone. The boss should have had the right to fire her and the company needs to grow a pair and not take empty threats from the Karen when there's literally zero chance of her winning. Not to mention no lawyer would take her case and if she lies to the lawyer they'd drop her as a client immediately.

Remember, if someone truly loves you, they will not do anything that’ll hurt you in any shape or form. You do what you prefer at the end.
