Someone tried to do that to me when I worked Drive thru at McDonald's. Their order was like $8 and paid with a $100 bill. Because it was such a big amount I counted it 3x to make sure I was giving her the right amount back and I close the window and then 2 seconds later she taps on the window and says I was $20 short. And holds up the money and it was showing $20 less but I stood my ground and said I know I gave her the right amount and said I'd have to get the manger to pull the tape so I turned around for the manager and when I went back to the window she had driven off. People are pathetic to try and steal. And at McDonald's if your register is short you have to pay it

I hate when stuff like this happen. The last year I worked part time in a fast food. Once there was an easy day, there weren't many people and I was the only one in the kitchen, suddenly an order from drive appeared on the screen and I started to make it. There were a lot of toasts and some hamburgers, I made all of them, then the guy in the front started to pack all the order and then when that person was paying he told to my co-worker to keep the rest (40 cents so it wasn't much). Three minutes after the guy that ordered came back, and said that some of his toasts/burgers were missing, which left me and my co-worker speechless because he was sure that he packed all the stuff, and I was sure that I made all of them, I'm convinced about it because I check 3 times, as I do every time I'm alone in the kitchen. In the end the manager said the client is always right and we didn't have any proof to confirm the fact that we were right so we had to complete the order and practically he got some free stuff. :/
