The same thing happened with my dad's old mechanic shop. A friend of my dad asked him if he could hire his son, who was around 18-20 to work at his shop. About after a couple of weeks, my dad's shop got robbed and he lost all the money at the shop and everything. After checking the cameras, we found out it was the kid who he just hired and all we needed to do was to show the footage to the police. My dad is way too nice of a person and refused to show the footage to the police. He said that the kid was still fairly young and showing the footage to the police would ruin his life indefinitely.
