Thank you for the inspiration. I've been trying to get back into art and I'm having a bit of a crisis. I have all the supplies one could ask for, yet I'm left overwhelmed by the paradox of choice. So refreshing to see such an amazing piece with a limited pallette.

It is great to start out with a limited palette and ease you way in. You are right it can be overwhelming. I have created a limited palette playlist and have published lots of limited palette tutorials that you may find helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWSUamdjatGAmJY

Hi Karen, I have been painting in watercolor for about three years and watched hundreds of demos, but since discovering your channel I have learned more about technique in the last three weeks than I have ever done. You are a beautiful painter. Thank you so much.

Great lesson on thechiques! I especially like the way you leave ahve sequenced the development of the piece and leave off uncessasary detailslike simplfy the leaves and branches by using a sponge. I have not seen anyone else put branches in like you do. It makes so much design sense. Thank you, Karen.

Karen I think your watercolors are exceptional as is your enthusiam when painting. I understand you use COLD PRESSED watercolor paper but I have run out and only have the HOT PRESS thay is no as friendly. Would it be possible for you to make a painting on HOT PRESS paper as I am atruggling with it. i live in Peru and nobody has the COLD PRESSED I whave to wait a couple of months to check if this is available here again. I do hopeyou can do a short video withe the HOT paper as I am trying to understand the technique and still do not get any good result. Thanks in advance and pls continue to post tour beautiful work.

Sorry you cannot get hold of cold pressed paper. Many of my Abstract Tutorials are painted on Hot Pressed paper. Hope this helps you... here is a link to the playlist:kzbin.info/www/bejne/mGaqi6RmesSKo5I 😊

@@KarenRiceArt AWESOME THANK YOU FOR POINTING ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTIONS...I have been checking your abstracts and LOVED them... so i will start here with the Hot Pressed paper. I live in PERU and as far as artcrafts cannot find a huge selection. But have a person who travels to USA and brings stuff...this will take a couple of months though. In the meantime will try to paint your abstracts...

Hi Karen, I love trying your painting! This simple monochromatic is fascinating. I'm thinking it could be converted to represent four seasons, of course in 4 different pictures, just be adding some color. What are your thoughts?
