It can hurt only if you let it. This "gentleman" seems as if he is very grounded and had her number. I think he handled the situation perfectly. He didn't lower his standards to meet her on her level. He didn't curse or yell & scream, or use names. In other words,figuratively speaking, he heaped hot coals on her head, and gave her no grounds to use against him. He let her make a fool of herself and now it's all over the internet. She has no one to blame but herself. Really, in a way, she is very lucky. She could have said those things to someone else that didn't have the intelligence, confidence, and forbearance this man had and could have ended up in a world of hurt.
