My late father was a serving soldier in the first battalion irish guards from the age of 17teen to the age of 55, my father and his fellow soldiers are trained to serve, they have two images, one ceremonial, they are also committed to laying down their life for queen and Country, now king and Country, as an army child I have nothing but respect for the guards, no matter which regiment or battalion, through my fathers service to the crown, . he saw active duty and served in Cyprus, United Arab Emirates , the Malay peninsular, , Belize, Egypt, South yemen, aden, Hong Kong, Singapore Germany, . He saw all the trouble spots of Britain's withdrawal from the empire, whilst being awarded many campaign medals along the way, I have absolutely no regrets of the life we lived, every two years moved from country to country, I have nothing but pride and respect for Britain's armed forces, I wish I had the composure that these guys have, I know I would be less forgiving

@LukeThompson1564 жыл бұрын
@@AzguardMike depends on the circumstances whether those weapons are loaded. Usually depends on the military's protocol and the ceremonial occasion in which the military are used for guard detail. Most incidents, the soldiers will use their hands or perform an enguard with their bayonets to challenge the person's involved. If the scenario is under the circumstances where the soldiers feel they have to prime the weapon system, it usually will usually be with a attachment of armed Police Officers from the SO14 Royal Protection Group within the Metropolitan Police. However, simple verbal abuse towards the guards and Her Majesty, even threatening language, does not provide the appropriate necessity for the soldier to prime the weapon system. Mind if I ask when you saw this? Would be interested in knowing that happened the the individuals involved.

The chances of making a Royal guard laugh are low..... but never zero.

A few years ago we were at a county show and my 11 year old son and I went to the King's Troop Royal Artillary stand. Well my son was very tall for his age, so the standard mock up uniform would not fit him and the sargent was somewhat shocked to learn my son's age, he then urged my son to try the mock up horse and said 'I bet you wish you could ride a real horse'. My son replied that he had been riding since age 11 and the surprised guy told him to come back at age 16.
