I absolutely love Judge Boyd. She doesn't just send them away and never think of them again. She explains things so they can understand and for a lot of people in the justice system it's the first time anyone has taken the time. You can see the response from the defendants is more respectful after too IMO. Not always, but it only takes 1 judge to change a person's life.

From the matters I've seen before her, she upholds the law, while taking into consideration the public AND the Defendant. While most Judges do as well, she seems to have a very strong and active/accurate B.S. meter, and the alarms are quick to sound.

I’ve seen so many judges, who will just give them a new attorney one time just because they feel like they have to, I really loved that. She said no. This is being paid for by the seat you don’t get to choose, especially because most of them have no idea what the lawyer is actually responsible for. He’s mad at the prosecutor so he wants to fire his own lawyer.😂

It's interesting that people never freak out in Boyd's courtroom. Her firm but fair approach and don't eff with me demeanor disables them! Also, they're in person with the attorney by their side, which greatly reduces the rampant disrespect of zoom hearings.

The defendant and his attorney said no to an offer of 20 years -- so dude is going to trial with a confession on the table.
