The first time I’ve ever felt pride and respect from my father was when an irate man had come up to our car and slammed his fist on our car window yelling and screaming cause he thought we cut him off. Instead of being upset and getting angry back my father calmly got out of the car and explained he didn’t see him if he had and let him know that his young kids were in the car and that he did not appreciate him speaking to him that way in front of his kids. The man changed faces real fast and apologized to my father. I honestly never felt more pride and respect for him than I did on that day😊

The guy breaking up with the abusive gf needs some damn support! If the genders were flipped, all those bystanders would be stepping in 👀👀 ETA: He 100% did that in public because he knew she'd be a thousand times more abusive in private. If she acts that violently in public, I'd be genuinely scared for his safety behind closed doors.

Except the men sitting the way they were, sending calm vibes to their fellow dude. They don’t ‘comfort’ like women, but they were empathizing and their body language showed it in their 1/3 turns. The bar tender was the one who was inches away from jumping it, good that he didn’t. It would have escalated quickly. That took courage, what a nasty piece of work she is🤯

That bartender has definitely seen shit go down and was ready to stop a brawl, and from her. It's best for other patrons to mind their business because sometimes the violence gets turned on them, but if staff need to jump to protect someone of any gender, they're probably going to do it before it goes to blows or the cops have to be called. My bil manages bars and yes, he does plenty of shifts as bartender. He's not a fighter, but if stuff is about to pop off he'll tell whoever it is that they need to calm down or leave, otherwise he's calling the cops. They can and will call the cops too. People who run bars don't get enough respect for handling the crazies and uninhibited.

Those guys were making their presence known so she knew that they were watching, so if she went physically violent against him that they were there to report how things really went down. She pulled a meltdown straight out of 90s rom com. "BREAKING UP WITH ME?! You don't get to break up with ME!" (Uh, yeah. He does.) I just kept thinking she was going back for her glasses. Those were prescription and probably expensive. 😅 I hope she didn't need them to drive. Props to him for staying calm in the fury of that abuse storm. Glad he got out.

Just yesterday I got my drink at Starbucks wrong. I went in with the drink that only had one sip out of it and calmly explained it and after the look of shock faced they agreed nicely to remake it for me and it was a very chilled interaction. It's too much to be angry, there's no reason to be mean to the servers. Mistakes happen, no reason to be bent out of shape.

The said sorry and checked which drink it should have been and made me one. Manager wanted to give me my money back but I said no. It was a mistake and the person who served was on her first working day. All the staff in there know me and are always friendly and helpful. I like going in there. They will also just leave me alone, not rush me. I really appreciate that.

If you're nice when customer service people screw up, you might also get some extras. Like an upsize or extra baked good or something. Like, I often customize sandwiches at fast food joints, and the extras are often forgotten. But since they're not allowed to take the sandwich back, I just get an extra sandwich. It's beautiful, and they're always so relieved by my patience. Which is so depressing

I love how people think it takes two people to break up. No. It only takes one. It takes two to agree to be in a relationship (more if you’re poly), but only one to decide it’s time to call it on the relationship. And if you refuse to acknowledge that you’re being broken up with, that attitude is probably one of the reasons you’re being broken up with.

@@iSheree Not sure why you think that. Yes, mutual break ups occur. And yes, I’ve had them. But if two people are dating and one wants to break up, they don’t need the permission of the other person to do so. Our neighbor and the previous owners of our house were in a war over grass clippings. Apparently, the neighbor was cutting grass and some clippings came through the wood fence into previous owner's flowerbed... and all hell ensued. When we moved in, our neighbors always ignored us - even when we waved. About a year into living here, the husband had to ask my husband for access to our backyard because all the outside cable boxes for our block of the neighborhood are in the corner of our yard. They talked a little bit and we found out about the grass clipping saga... turns out they ignored us because they heard a rumor that previous owner's son bought the house. But we don't know the previous owners, never met them, and didn't even buy the house from them - we bought from an investment company they sold it too. So, now we're good, but it's weird to think that in their minds, we were the "enemy" for a whole year lol

"I live in Atlanta, so there is pretty much traffic at any time of the day" gave me flashbacks to living in Atlanta, and all the traffic, and how the only time where the road is truly functional is at 4 AM, when everything is calm and relaxed. For one hour a day at least, three hours at best, between 3 AM and 5 AM, that is the only time Atlanta Traffic is in any way tolerable. The rest of the time, it is a nightmare, more so early morning, lunch time, and quitting time, and that is how I know that person is not lying.

The woman freaking out about a break up is nothing less than an erratic control freak. He had to break up with her in public because I'm sure she's much worse in private. Wrong or not I initiated a divorce in front of a psychotherapist because I was too traumatized by people yelling from childhood to deal with my husband yelling at me in private. It was his only way out. However even though she gave him her card and phone it was also her way of being in control whether she realized it or not.

Had a Karen encounter yesterday at the extremely crowded grocery store. Some poor woman made the tragic mistake of stopping briefly in the automatic doors to put a receipt away. Literally 2 seconds pass before Karen who is behind her and in front of me starts yelling at her at the top of her lungs that “you’re blocking the aisle!”. Poor receipt woman flinches and starts apologizing. Me, being the mouthy thing I can be, gives receipt woman a commiserating glance and on her behalf yell after Karen, “merry f’ing Christmas”! Not very mature but highly gratifying 😅

Okay so just for your information, grass clippings are supposed to be left on the lawn unless it becomes a thick dense layer and then you rake them. Grass clippings still have nutrients in them and will help feed your lawn and make it nice and lush. It's especially important in Canada for when the snow falls and the lawn is deprived of food for several months. Sometimes the clippings get thick and then you have to rake because if you don't the sun doesn't reach the grass. But most of the time, you're supposed to leave them.

Because that person is terrified of losing control, i.e. they have narcissistic tendencies, or they're in love with the IDEA of what thelat person could be because they're projecting.

Not fully trusting girl with the Starbucks story. She was probably the Karen in that other lady's POV, cause honestly, even though she tries to make herself look good, I see two Karens; OP, and Screamy MacSkree.

I don't care for Karen stories as a whole. But when CD tells them it's better, and I loved the Reiki. BTW, when I used to mow grass, there was a bag on the mower, so no clippings.

15:25 same, it’s Someone (family, close friend, SO, people I’m close to and understand this is just who I am) says anything to me in a tone or phrase that didn’t match what I was expecting and I respond “your face is -“ or “you’re -“ and it usually turns into a compliment which is fun Like “that’s an interesting flavor” “YOU’RE an interesting flavor”

That ending.. man I needed that. I know you did it as a joke but 2023 has officially been the worst year of my and my parents' lives. I was entranced by that and sort of felt the negative energy being taken away from me. Thank you, Charlotte!
