My husband was walking our large dog home from the park ON A LEASH when an elderly woman, across the street, mowing her grass freaked out & ran to her front door. She yelled at him to put our "vicious dog" on a leash. 😒🙄 He's never bit/attacked anyone, ever! My husband showed her that he was holding the leash, attached to the dog's collar. She screamed, don't let it cross the street. Then, she let her small yappy dog out, NO LEASH! 😤😡 It immediately ran to the middle of the street & barked incessantly at them. She was hysterical & yelling about not letting our dog attack hers. Hubby started to continue home, 3-4 doors down & her dog followed them! He said, "Ma'am, come get your dog so I can go home." She refused because she was afraid our dog would attack her if she moved from her porch. 🤨 Our dog was tired & lying in the grass, completely ignoring this nutcase & her annoying mutt. 😴 Hubby wrapped the leash around the roadsign & walked toward her dog, it backed up into her yard, continuously barking. She, FINALLY, got her dog to go to her when she called & she picked it up. As Hubby walked back across the street, she called out & commented on how well behaved our dog was for not pulling on the leash around the post. 🤯 Hubby said, "That's because he's better behaved than yours." She told him he didn't need to be rude after she complimented our well behaved dog. He ignored her & finished walking home. 🤣😂

Yeah uh… in the majority of suburban towns, home owners do NOT own the sidewalk, the buffer of grass, and the curb, but it’s their responsibility to maintain. Nor do they own ANY of the street. She is basically harassing people on PUBLIC property. EDIT: By letting that sprinkler run 24/7 and saturating at least her yard enough to leave giant puddles, she is risking property damage to HER house. She is risking property damage to all the public works infrastructure that is UNDER her yard (water, sewer, sometimes cable/internet, power lines, line pole if it’s near her). That shit ain’t cheap to fix and SHE would be responsible to fix it. There was a sewer line issue in front of my house growing up, and once we got an estimate. Mind you, this was back in ‘98 and it was something like 8,000 dollars to fix, and there was no shopping around as only approved companies could come in to do the work to public services.

additionally, with sprinkler usage, homeowners/renters can't allow the water to fall on the sidewalks as it might cause a safety issue for some people (like handicap), thus it's usually a city/town ordinance to prevent this, but most people don't know this until they get fined for it... and intentionally turning on your sprinklers to wet people that are on the sidewalk can be considered Assult or just Causing a Nuisance.... you can usually call the 'Code Enforcement' office to report her watering the sidewalks....

Many years ago, I lived on a street with EXACTLY the same Karen. She tormented the neighbourhood for several years prior to me moving in on the street. I am a gothic chic, always have been, even now over 55, I'm wearing gowns with corsets. ANYWHO The house i moved into was one of the more run down looking compared to the newer style house not of same age. Our street Karen would badger everyone when pulling into our own driveway. She would brisk walk down the few houses to catch whoever exiting their vehicles and hurle insults. I lived a few doors away and a daily target especially when renovation started. Because of my style, I've learned to either stand my ground or just walk away, witch i choose to do with Karen ... until I learned from someone on the street that it all started shortly after her husband passed away, her children living on the west coast not being able to visit much and as i eventually found out, didn’t call much and always too busy when she has called. After hearing this it became my mission to sweeten her up. I brought her a couple of potted plants on valentine's day with a box of chocolates and a card that i managed to get a few neighbours to sign. For a few days the block had peace. No insults hurled and those who signed the card got a smile and wave when they usually seen her at the sidewalk yelling at them for something. As soon as she started back up, i made some of my favorite comfort sweets bought a selection box of teas and went over handing a goodies basket to her and asking if she wanted to come over to see the renovation so far and maybe sit down for a tea. She declined with harsh words but took the goodies. The next day I knocked on her door and invited her over for dinner. She didn't show up, so i made up a plate after we ate and brought it over. When I knocked, she didn't answer even though I knew she was there, she hardly ever left. Spring arrival and her grass was a bit higher than mine so i went over and started cutting her front lawn. All the neighbors came out waiting for her to explode. She came out with a smile and asked if i could cut her backyard. Afterwards she mentioned that her electric lawnmower was broken, so i told her that i would happily do her lawn every time i did mine. A few days before mother's day i invited her to a mother's day brunch, my mother was 700km away and due to our work schedule, couldn't spend the day together and I would like to spend with her. After that invitation, after that lovely brunch we had together, she slowly changed her meany Karen attitude towards me and the neighbourhood. Everyone on the street said i killed Karen with kindness. ❤

the dog lady resonated with me: I was walking my dog - very mellow 8 year old, neutral to dogs, cats etc - and my neighbour comes around the corner with his dog on a flexi leash. The dog barges towads us, we are about 50 ft or so away. His dog is not friendly. Instead of stopping his leash and reeling in his dog he starts screaming at me "MY DOG IS NOT FRIENDLY!" ...like, i see that, BUT YOU CAME UP TO ME ?!

That first story was similar to what my friend and I experienced at an ice cream shop/cafe on a lazy Sunday afternoon. No alcohol was involved, so you know we weren't messy or loud. We sat at one of the outdoor tables by two elderly white women who were probably in their 60s or 70s and proceeded to catch up. Apparently, as I was recounting a story to my friend, nothing risque mind you, one of the women started to murmur under her breath about us, according to my friend. I was oblivious to this at the time. My friend ignored the lady until she escalated to yelling and only then did I realize she was directing her angry voice at us. We asked what was the problem and she was saying how we were invading her space, being too loud, and that we were ruining her peace. I mean she could have politely asked us if she thought we were somehow too audible for them. I might have considered just being a tad quieter than normal speaking volume if people were nice about it but she of course continued to cuss us out instead. My friend proceeded to say that this wasn't her space which made the lady angrier. You could literally see her eyes almost pop out of their sockets. Anyways my friend and I decided to continue our conversation and ignore them, and they proceeded to go inside the store and talk to the manager. The manager came out, observed the situation, watched me and my friend converse, and after a few minutes went back inside without a word. The old ladies came back out and were furious, tried to engage in a shouting match again as they grabbed their stuff and stomped off. I were wondering what were their problem because we were literally talking normally and it all went from 0 to 100 real quick. My friend figured it might been because we were both POC and the neighborhood we were in used to be mostly white a few decades ago and these ladies just felt entitled to "their area". Anyways entitled people exists in every generation. So best to nip entitlement in the bud or else we get more old Karens down the line. 😅

There’s been an ongoing fued in my city over the sidewalk in front of these multimillion dollar beach front houses (that are empty more than half the year & rented out for vacationers)- the owners have blocked off the sidewalk to use as extended patios, forcing you to either walk in the street (already narrow and crowded from the cars parked alongside it) or on the sand, which isn’t viable for those in wheelchairs/with walkers or if you have a stroller. The owners have been sued but it’s become a huge mess in the courts (which is ridiculous as well- you can’t own & restrict access to a public sidewalk) It’s appalling the lengths of some people’s selfishness.

She's standing there to catch the ball in case they kick it out of the garden and it rolls over to the neighbor who then steals it. We grew up with neighbors like that. When my brother played soccer in the garden and it went over the to their side, they would grab it and put a knife in it. But every Summer they had their two grandsons for two weeks, and suddenly they were the best neighbors ever. They sent their grandsons to our side to play soccer, and they would happily stand outside to throw the ball back.

The sidewalk in most states in the U.S. are a public/utility easement it's not 100% yours and if someone injurs themselves the victim can sue the homeowner. It's private/Public. The local ordinances or law enforcement can't do anything because it's not a crime. The neighbors can file "harassment" charges and / or stalking if the lady follows them beyond her own property.

The sidewalk in front of your house is public property. It is not owned by the homeowner. But because it runs through the homeowner’s property, the homeowner is required to keep it clean, repaired and free of debris. If someone falls on that sidewalk, the homeowner is liable. If the sidewalk is dirty, in disrepair or in this case, blocked, and someone is injured, then the homeowner could also be looking at negligence charges which can get expensive.

The Karen whose sprinklers are watering the sidewalk and the gutter should be fined for wasting water.

I love that the woman filming brought her flowers over to be watered. I could feel Karen’s immense rage when her tactics were being used against her. She’s obviously fine with paying a crazy water bill, might as well get good use out of it.

Call someone about the flooded street because "someone is running their sprinklers 24/7 and is concerned about the street/storm drain" It's going to ruin the neighbors yard down the hill
