How to crochet my easy petite converse style slippers is my first of a set of my easy crochet converse style slippers. Larger sizes will be published soon. My new twist to the popular slipper is buttons. The pattern is exactly the same, the only difference is the choice of laces or buttons :)
Thank you to everyone who watches my videos, thank you for the likes, subscribing and sharing, I hope you have lots of fun with these.
I have broken the pattern down into sections because I found that is the easiest way to follow my instructions.
My easy Crochet Petite Baby Converse Style Slippers 3 inch sole
sides
mark 12 stitches for the toes area
R1. Cast on with a sc (left of the marker, don't pull tigh)
sc in the next 19
total of 20 sc
(remember, don't work in the slip stitch part of the base or you gain a stitch)
R2. ch 3, turn, sk 1
sc in the next 17
ch 3, sk 1, sl st into the next (casting on st)
(1st and 2nd lace/button holes formed)
R3. ch 1, turn, sk 1, sl st in next 2 of ch
sc in the next 15
ch 3, sk 1, sl st into next
(3rd lace/button hole formed)
R4. ch 1, turn, sk 1, sl st in next 2 of ch
sc in the next 13
ch 3, sk 1, sl st into the next
(4th lace/button hole formed
R5. ch 1, turn, sk 1, sl st in the next 2 of the ch
sl st in the next 13
sl st into the ch of the lace/button hole to finish
Fasten off and sew in all loose ends
Now repeat this on the 2nd base.

Hi Karen, thank you so much for your teaching. I have been crocheting with you for almost a year or so now. I thought it was time to comment. You do an awesome job. I get compliments on such a professional job. I own that all to you. My 6 Labradors know your soft sweet voice and they sleep so calmly from your voice. So you are special in my house.. thank you again.

These are the best looking baby shoe or slippers I have ever seen. I also enjoy your stories about the history of crocheting and so on. Good luck with your book and who care what the teacher thinks about Ba Ba Black sheep. This is part of our growing up. To heck with the prejudice in the world.

Hi Karen. I absolutely love these precious little shoes and your video is excellent. A friend is having twins, a boy and a girl, in Sept. and these will make a perfect keepsake. I changed the girl's a little by leaving out the tongue and tying a ribbon through the top loops. They look like little sandals. Thanks again for your great instructions.

I am not sure if you still get comments on these older tutorials but .... I have fallen in love with this Baby Converse Bootie and am making tons of them for charity. Your voice and teaching is soothing and comforting to my ears and soul and I just keep rewinding and catching up until I have my parts made. I showed my hubby and he actually smiled and chuckled at the small cuteness of them. Thank you. Thank you. THANK YOU !!! This has brought such joy into my life. I love crocheting but, seriously, one can have ones full share of afghans and scarves and hats and rags and potholders, etc ... LOL ... and of course, so do family and friendsl !!! I have to go to the doctor tomorrow and am looking forward to it because I have this "work" to do while I wait !!! It is quite satisfying to know that these creations will be blessing little baby feet some day. I can't wait to have my own little "grand baby" feet to bless as well. I keep sending photos of the little shoes to my daughter and son ... LOL !!!

She is not a very good teacher. You really have to figure it out yourself. My button holes don't match. The lighting is bad and she doesn't slow down and show you what stitches she is working in to. I give her a "D" on instruction. And there is no written instruction on the screen as you go along. Very frustrating video. It gets lots of views, but how many people are actually making the shoes?

+lisa stager Bet the dresses are super cute : ) Haven't tried any yet. I've done a few pairs of booties but always seem to get lost on where to join rounds. It's so easy to get "in the zone" while doing blankies that they usually don't require much concentration : ) I did make a Marvin the Martian hat for my hubby last fall and he loves it. Chemo caps go so much faster though, so I'll stick with to those and blankies for the hospital : )

Hi Karen, I must tell you that I absolutely love your crochet baby converse booties and patterns!!! I was wondering if you have seen the white and black adidas booties I have seen on youtube, but I can't find a pattern for them. would you happen to have a pattern for them? They are the super cool White ones with Black stripes and the adidias badge on the back of the heal, I wish I could upload a photo to show you the ones I mean.

If you're not going into the marker space when changing colors and only do 9 on one side and 10 on the other...only adds up to 19 stitches before the next marker. I don't get it. My 20th stitch would have to go into the last marked stitch. Please help...i LOVE these

She didn't say but I know she said a 4.00 size hook. I don't know what letter that would be. If you look on the internet you should be able to find a conversion table. Also 4 ply yarn would be too heavy. I am thinking a sport yarn. The heavier your yarn the larger your hook will need to be and that will affect the outcome. I hope I helped out some.

You might loosened your tension out of fear of squishing the shoe too much? Even a slight change of tension make a big change in result on such small items. I usually nonintentionally loosen my grip after a while of crocheting if I don't take any brake in between

So, this is what I DONT get with any of these tutorials.....after I sew the base or sole, am I suppose to turn the work inside out then? because as it is, it curls up and does not look right, but when I turn it what seems to be the right way, it has the sides that stand up properly and the nice shaped base/sole....I do not see her turn it this way however after she does the final sl st
@jacquiward8471
@jacquiward8471 6 жыл бұрын
She sews the sole to the sole of the shoe so their for you do not turn the shoe inside out as it’s all ready on the right side....the bottom of the shoe ...I hope this helps

With my shoe, Round 1 only has 15 stitches, not 20. I see this video is about 5 years old and the lighting is not the best. Hopefully, you will record an updated video with better lighting. Also, please show a close up with exactly what stitch you are working into. It's a bit hard to see and you do it really fast. It also helps if you write the stitches for each round so when we pause the video, we see the current stitch. Your hands are completely covering the work. I can't see what you are doing at the end of round 2, which is the button hole. The most important part. Very frustrating. Could you pause after each button hole and show us what it looks like?
