KarentheKarrot i will try this today and keep you updated but I’m also starting to think that maybe the plates are too short. Like, I noticed that the front wheels on roller skates end before the actual front of the boot which is something I’m not used to since I’ve always been skating rollerblades

If you have a modells sporting good store were you live, they usually carry Chicago skates for a very good price....if your finances get better then I would highly recommend sure Grips or Riddells...Reidells highly recommend because they will last you a very long time..Reidells come with a very good boot and very good frame. Please be careful when getting Chicago's ...and do not make Chicago's your permanent skate...however if you have too...make sure to get you a new frame, bearings, and wheels and toe stopper if you decide to keep your beginner skates...keep in mind upgrading your skates with better parts are not cheap....a good frame will start you at 100 on up.

I fell on my tailbone the first time I went skating. Aswell as it being hell for two weeks, I think it was a relief.. even if it hurts, falling is a lot better than the thought of falling (which can be very scary for a beginner). to improve, you need to fall. It’s good because as Karen said, you are gonna fall lol.. I just wish I knew how to do it correctly at the time.

Maybe it's just me, but I think my skates are rolling too fast. I barely do anything and I'm flying and then I cannot stop. I need help. I have only skated about 10-15 times but I can not get myself to stop or slow down. The only way I go slow is if I am going up a slight hill (then I have to pump harder). Any other way I end up going very quick and then I can't stop because it is too fast and I'm inexperienced in stopping, I just roll myself into grass or fall once I hit a pebble or stick.

Should your skates be a snug fit or slightly loose ?
@robby34674 жыл бұрын

She definitely struggled with those first pair of skates because they are speed skates 😂 I remember my first pair of skates were speed skates and I always wondered why it was harder to balance and it’s because speed skates don’t have much of a heel. A high heel allows you to balance easier and not feel like you’re going to fall backward as much. I really recommend heeled skates for beginners!! Unless you wanna be a risk taker 🤪
