@@spiritlevelstudios I agree. The same in the UK. People knock the farmers and growers who provide food for our nation. It is the manufacturers who turn good wholesome food into crap. Look back on war time diets which was frugal and yet sustaining. Cereals at their basic are ok. Once the manufacturers process it into sugar loaded rubbish which parents buy for their children. Don't buy it and health for our families would improve. Egg for breakfast or a fruit added to a plain yogurt is ideal. Oatmeal or unadulterated cereals are filling. These are produced by means of agriculture so people should not knock it.

@@TheSuperHarrygeorge - The USDA is a government agency, not farmers. Overall this agency promotes the interests of the large corporations that make nearly all the money to be made from agriculture, not the interests of farmers. The history of the shift from helping farmers to promoting corporate interests can be traced through the USDA yearbooks.

She's correct - the USDA is complicit. But since the 70s there's also been a sharp rise in the production of engineered junk food and outlets which sell it.

Like grain finishing of cattle, processed foods provide a market for commodity agricultural products - the grains and seeds that can be stored without refrigeration. Seed oils, and the margarine and shortening made from them, the stuff deceptively sold as if they came from 'vegetable' sources, plus refined grains and sugar in various forms, are made into food-like products that can also be stored for a long time and shipped without refrigeration.

I have a lot of energy. I never have headaches and I’m the only one in my family with no hypothyroidism. I don’t have a single painkillers at home. Vegans on a balanced whole foods diet are thriving!! This woman has an agenda, which is animal abuse. Fuck this evil woman. I hope she goes to hell with all her carnivores followers

Why is it so much harder to give up carbs than it was fat?
@TheCompleteGuitarist
@TheCompleteGuitarist 5 жыл бұрын
My take on this issue is that we are adapted to consume carbs, but only what is naturally available and we are hardwired to consume all the carbs we find because at one time they would not have been plentiful and anything left would have been wasted or taken by a competitor for that source. The problem is that we now have all the carbs we want and can eat as much as we want whenever we want. Fat and meat satiates us, but there is always room for carbs and it triggers addiction centres (for reasons mentioned before) in the brain.
@blanchetv
@blanchetv 5 жыл бұрын
Jay Scott ANDERSON because carbs raise insulin, which leads to cravings for more carbs. Fats are the only macro that do not raise insulin, so less likely to crave like sugar.
@MrDavidknigge
@MrDavidknigge 5 жыл бұрын
First, it isn't that hard, but like any addiction, you need to be motivated and give it a month. Second, ultra-processed foods are carefully engineered and fabricated to be addictive. Finally, most of us have found that it is much, much easier to lower our weight and put our diabetes in remission eating fatty meat and lowering carbs than any other manner of eating. At the age of 69, I lost 52 pounds (24 kg.) and have maintained that loss for 9 months. My wife, aged 54 lost 82 pounds (37 kg.). Neither of us had lasting success in any other way of eating. Furthermore, neither of us has any desire to return to our former way of eating.

As a psychiatrist she is so confused. Your brain primary fuel is glucose . Fruit and starchy vegetables best examples. Fat especially saturated fat will make your blood fatty . This leads to impaired blood flow and fat obstructs antioxidants absorption. For brain to get the heavy metals like Mercury and aluminum that cause autism and dementia you need good blood flow . Fat restricts blood flow. Saturated fats leads to stroke also. The reason why that person got better on the coconut oil is because coconut oil kills pathogens and viruses that can damage the brain.

A great, informative lecture that I am grateful to access free of charge but if I was talking with this woman face to face, I would ask her why she snaps on that fake smile after almost everything she says - especially when she has just said something that is nothing to smile about. Watch from 4.00 she smiles after saying gum disease then again after saying they don't feel well. It sets off an alarm in my mind every time she does it because it is habitual and inappropriate. I wonder what her psychiatric patients make of it.

Carbs are great, just get the good kind. Not that hard to understand. Since I went vegan, all my numbers are great and weight just fell off. Problem with fat is that it is calorie dense. Nutrients need for regulation of body will not be met with fat! Also need to mention that everything is supersized, portion control is important. Drop bad carbs and add good carbs and your health will benefit. I agree that the USDA is not a good source of dietary info, as well as heart, diabetes and cancer orgs.
