She has so perfectly combined the beauty of the instrument with the joyous tone of the song. It was a blessing to hear.❤

Finally to find a performance that doesn't have the organist playing at a tortoise-like tempo. Diane Bish is an incomparable artist.

Can’t listen to this without it bringing a tear to my eyes. Her talent is otherworldly. She has mastered pieces Virgil Fox and E. Power Biggs have absolutely butchered in comparison. Diane Bish is my spirit animal. She’s also a very sweet and humble lady in person.

Can't get enough of that classic Ruffatti sound! It seems they are not voicing their choruses quite that way any more? I've played their large instrument in Charlotte and it was something quite different. Ruffatti is the finest builder in the world imnsho. I hope that extremely glistening brilliance and sparkling fire doesn't disappear from their instruments forever.

As demonstrated here, as a Movement in the 33 Stylistic Studies for Harmonium, *EIN SIEGESGESANG ISRAELS, Op. 101 No. 5 - "33 PORTRAITS FÜR HARMONIUM (ALLER SYSTEME)"* (Sigfrid Theodor Karg) Edition C. F. Peters, GeMA translates well to large pipe organs, especially those with full reed chori on unenclosed Divisions (which are a major amplitude boost on the French art harmonium for which these Studies were originally composed). Obviously I'd have a difficult time assembling a drumkit that could keep up with this V/117 organ: With the exceptions of Pearl Drums and Grover Pro Percussion, no manufacturer has a lug-tuned snare drum in the 16"x16" size; and the Cooperman Revolutionary War Model snare drum (packing the optional Remo Falams batter and Emperor Snare resonant with four guts on the stock J-hook snare strainer), originally designed for slinging by a shell-mounted carry hook, would require a rack system to hang it.

@Contrubas Maybe she has chosen not to couple the other divisions to the pedal?

Typically, the first manual is the Positiv or Ruckpositiv. The second manual is usually the Great or Hauptwerk.

I do like this piece and play it from her score - but in the transcription Ms Bish has done, and you can see in the video, she is duplicating notes in the left hand that are in the pedals. What's the point?
@chen04668 жыл бұрын
Very talented, yes. But I think it comes through better with a slightly slower tempo and also with more of an orchestral type registration in the middle section.
