Kargil War - Archival Footage | Full Compilation of India's war with Pakistan

The Kargil War was fought for more than 60 days, primarily in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan. Both sides lost many soldiers and the war came to an end on July 26, 1999, when India fought and took command of the outposts that had been lost to Pakistani intruders, and Pakistan retreated after international diplomatic pressure. The Government of India recruited approximately 200,000 Indian troops to fight. A total number of 527 soldiers of the Indian Armed forces lost their lives during this war. The Kargil Vijay Diwas is held in honour of the slain soldiers.
Kargil War Memorial in Dras, built by the Indian army in the late '90s, is frequented by travellers plying the highway connecting Srinagar to Leh. The memorial houses records of the Indian army personnel, who sacrificed their lives in the process of recapturing some of the peaks occupied by the Pakistan army; such as Tiger Hill and Tololong.

I lost my Mama Major Manoj Talwar in the kargil war on 13th June. He was given the task to capture point 5765(19000ft) at Turtuk. Despite severe bomb shelling from above and despite himself receiving severe life threatening injuries, he bravely kept on marching forward and lead his troop successfully and Captured the peak now known as ‘Talwar Top’. Unfortunately minutes after he captured the peak he was hit by a bomb shell and thus became immortal. Jai Hind🙏🏻🇮🇳

Im very proud to say that my father was in Indian airforce contributed in 1999 Kargil war . Jai hind. 1998 I was in 4rth std, visited Jammu with my family for summer vacation and situations were quite bad in mid of 1998 as well. Lots of stories to tell which I have experienced. Literally goose bumps whenever I remember those days with proud towards our defence forces and lots of emotions. I love this video. I love this video. My mother use to write letters to my father where one of the column was written by me and one by my brother in our childish way and writing 🤗 🙂💜

And im from kargil city ! The first bomb from pakistan side just hit my backyard ! School se just chutti ho ki tv dekhte huwe lunch kr rha tha with my sister ! Suddenly heard a loud sound , I didn’t respond because I thought its just a load carried unloading materials! But later around 5 pm shelling zyda badh gya and hit the main market ! And God knows kaise hum wahan se ratton raat bhag gye the paidal kahi. Dorr sab kuch chood kar 😭
