I once read a story of a woman in the Middle East named Fatima. She was secretly a Christian but when her brother found out he gave her four hours to decide between Jesus and her very life. Many would spend those 4 final hours in fear and may have compromised, my brave and beautiful sister went to her computer and typed out a letter to her secret Christian community online. In it she proclaimed the faithfulness of Christ and said she was a "Christian unto death." When her brother returned, she gave him her answer- she chose Christ. Her brother murdered her brutally for her unrelenting faith, ending her life here on earth, but causing her to enter life with our Lord whom she loved so dearly. Whenever i hear this song, i think of my sister Fatima and her beautiful words of commitment. May we all repeat those words if our lives are threatened for the sake of Christ: I am a Christian, a Christian unto death.
