Should you not take some of that white pith off the citrus peel, I’ve found it bitters the syrup somewhat, the final result looks amazing though n sure it tastes delightful

Cocoa in karidopita?? Oil?? Never heard of that! Some Greeks put chocolate icing on top but never inside the cake.No lemon in the syrup either, perhaps a cinnamon stick. We use breadcrumbs and brandy too.

Cacao inside adds a good depth in taste, you can always choose to not include it. And there was some lemon in the syrup and cinnamon :) Breadcrumbs are great as well, I have tried it, great for texture!

@@gourmandise_life δεν έχει σημασία αν γίνει κάτι,ασφαλώς και δε γίνεται τίποτε αλλά παραποιείται ένα παραδοσιακό γλυκό. Ας αφήσουμε το κακάο για τα σοκολατένια γλυκά και ας μείνει η καρυδόπιτα αυθεντική και αφρατη ,😀😉

I tried this with choc chips n ganache on top, it may not be ready but even the grandparents loved it, it’s ok to play with recipes as long as we get a good result, this was very nice, I’ve also made it with samolina and breadcrumbs both , 1 cup samolina n half cup breadcrumbs in the recipe, extra eggs n whisk the whites to stiff peaks with half the sugar etc if you follow my drift, lol 😂 n for the record “I’m Greek”😋there’s lots of variations n some of them are really nice, as long as we enjoy them it’s ok to go out the box imo
