In my opinion, this is the best NA speaker I have ever heard. Period. I would try to give a short description here, but it would not do Karin justice. All I can say is, if you listen to this tape, you will be moved and touched in a powerful and profound way.
"Narcotics Anonymous (NA) describes itself as a "fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem" following the Twelve Steps and the Twelve Traditions developed by Alcoholics Anonymous, and it is the second-largest 12-step organization.
As of May 2010 there were more than 58,000 NA meetings in 131 countries.
Because no attendance records are kept, it is impossible to estimate what percentages of those who come to Narcotics Anonymous remain active in NA over time. The only sure indicator of the program's success in attracting members is the rapid growth in the number of registered Narcotics Anonymous meetings in recent decades and the rapid spread of Narcotics Anonymous outside North America.
In 1978, there were fewer than 200 registered groups in three countries.
In 1983, more than a dozen countries had 2,966 meetings.
In 1993, 60 countries had over 13,000 groups holding over 19,000 meetings.
In 2002, 108 countries had 20,000 groups holding over 30,000 meetings.
In 2005, 116 countries had over 21,500 groups holding over 33,500 weekly meetings.
In 2007, there were over 25,065 groups holding over 43,900 weekly meetings in 127 countries.
In 2012, there were over 62,700 meetings worldwide in over 142 countries" From Wikipedia

My good friend from Montana sent me this and it was Exactly what I needed to hear. I was tied up for a few years in my early childhood and fed rotten meat. I lived in a hole in the ground. I was chained under our house. I only have been addicted to weed and prescription pills a long time ago. I'm getting over my weed addiction. I'm actually going through a lot of withdrawals. Shaking, sweating, nausea, throwing up, insomnia, raccing thoughts, anxiety, irritability, etc. I really needed to listen to this this morning. I live in Phoenix and am drinking my bottled water laughing and going Deeper in my own healing thoughts... Thank you for this recording and your Honesty. Blessings and peace to all on this journey 🙏💞

You clean date is the day I was born ...August 25, 1976 !! WoW ! I was wondering whether or not I should listen to your story b/c their are so many to choose from and that for me said it all ! Congratulations on your 32 (now ++) years sobriety. I was acting so distant with GOD and I don't know why? but your daughter running across the meeting had me on my knees before you finished your story . Thank You for taking the time and telling your story! May God Bless you & your family

I was fortunate enough to have actually been in the room this night in Omaha when Karin spoke. As good as this is, I wish you could SEE her while she's speaking. So animated! Also, Close Encounters Of The Clean Kind is one of the tightest NA conversations I've ever been to. Awesome recovery there! Just sucks being that cold in Omaha in February, lol.

dont rush, make sure your ready and have worked your steps. good luck and be very self aware. know yourself before coming off of your medications. do not let People who are not physicians talk you into rushing off of your medication. as long as you are working on yourself you are recovering.

Thank you Karen being the example. I came to this recovery program cause a couple people at AA invited me, said i'd gift right in, no being addicted to food not a problem. I are an addict if I say I are. That I'm addicted to certain food substances I have no doubt. I keep coming to NA despite keeping losing n keeping clean time cause its close to my home and where I need to be. It takes what it takes. Blessings

This was really good. Unlike the limited number of meetings I've been to. It goes to show that what's important - as I somewhat butcher the speaker's opening message - it's not our similarities that bring us together but our differences. The point being, you belong here.

Absolutely amazing speaker, have more than a few days now and found Karen's message to be uplifting and gave me gratitude, the moment she shared about the girl on the ledge not knowing how many more moments she had gave me goosebumps and tears all the same, much is life to live I have only moments and must live them all to the best of my ability, beyond amazed at the life that N.A. has given me once I chose to live it, Much Luv and respect all J.F.T.
