🤔 Hhmmm NOPE!! "Crush" was literally the BEST acting I've ever seen her do in her entire career other than "Clueless", but that series script really didn't take EXTREMELY great acting chops. If you know what I mean. She played the pretty, hot, stereotyped, dinghy, blonde. I've seen other movies starring her, also her not being the lead, and they were terrible. I think she lost her confidence when people started bullying her REALLY bad about her weight gain. BUT, she never was a really skinny girl, even in "Crush". I liked her size though, because she was curvy. That's probably a black thang though, wyte folks aren't really into curves, and ESPECIALLY Hollyweird. She really hasn't had a stack of roles, compared to her female counterparts. She doesn't have range, but for some reason she did exceptionally well and actually had range in "Crush". 🤷🏾‍♀️ She literally took on the essence of that character, or women obsessed like that in real life. Maybe it was the writer, the director that really helped her, or the script just had more depth than her other movies. I just love love movies about obsessed lovers, obsessed ex-lovers, or people that believe in their heads they're in a relationship with the individual they're obsessed with. 😊🤗

At this point Alicia was the 90s version of Brooke Shields. I love this girl but they definitely exploited her. I see why she stepped away from the industry…they took some of her teenhood from her. The Crush movie looks like a pedophiles wet dream omg! Sometimes these people who greenlight movies are truly nasty creepy freaks in real life. I love Alicia though, she is was so talented and a huge part of my childhood. Sorry these things happened to her.

I am not at all surprised that Steven Tyler had no problem with his teen daughter taking on such a risqué role in his music video. Steven himself is well-known for having an adult relationship with a girl who was 15 when they got involved. In fact, he actually adopted the girl so she could go on tour with him and stay with him. Lots of skeletons in Hollywood closets.

I recall reading Thora Birch was a teen during American Beauty and she had a topless scene in it. I had to Google that bit because I thought she too emancipated herself from her parents. Then found an article of Angelina Jolie emancipating herself and did a nude scene at 17 too. Pretty sad tbh. At that age teens can be wild but also they're still young, developing and mentally immature.

She was hired as a babysitter to watch these 2 kids while their parents went to a party for the evening. I fed my children the same way when they were moving on to solids. Gerber Baby Food is a fairly new product - how did women feed infants before that? I can't imagine there were readily available baby spoons for every family back in the 1800s. My children were always the biggest, strongest, healthiest children in their schools.

True. However, we don't live in the 1800's now. We have blenders and spoons. Having Gerber baby food isn't really the issue. I live in a country where that isn't common, selection extremely limited, and it's very expensive. Vast majority of us here make our own baby food. The chewing and transferring it to baby's mouth in current times where modern equipment is available, and spoons, is a bit odd. Each to their own though.

I liked Batman and Robin movie it was a good watch as a 12 year old kid and I still like it. She was good in the role and the script underutilised her massively becuase she can really act. She is authentically herself and is not only very smart and caring, but she is wise - and honest. No matter what I find people like that are ones that you want as a friend. She looks fulfilled and is clearly now accomplished and self assured, and is a good example for young actors today. She might have niche parenting quirks but I like unconventional people who are slightly weird. Good for her. She has stayed natural and I LOVE THAT so much and for that, considering how pretty she is, that says something very cool about her that she didn't go the self obsessed route. I guess when you take care of your diet like her and have good skincare you won't need to consider trying to look 16 when you're 40 something. I am 38 and I embrace my age so I like it when people do so also. She's actually massively refreshing. Edit: first paragraph P.S. AS IFF

I agree with you that an affair with a 30 year old being seduced by a 16 year old is disturbing! It's interesting that you liked the movie when you (I assume) thought it was an adult 'acting' like a 16 y/old seducing a 30 y/old but NOT when it was a 16 y/old 'acting' like she was seducing a 30 y/old. Either way it's the same disturbing (but all too common) situation that happens in real life. The reality of what happens behind the scenes in Hollywood all the time, is what's truly disturbing!! 😮

Upon reading the title, I immediately thought of her feeding her child like a bird but I look forward to the other odd things she’s done 🍿I’ve liked her since the Aerosmith videos 👍🏾…and The Crush of course. I didn’t realize The Crush was 1st.

OK, something about the Aerosmith video: I was born in 1978. So the 90´s were my period of puberty and discovering my sexuality. This video was at that time totally OK, and we adored it. Because we were (girls or young women), somehow proud that boys/men were attracted to us and we wanted to act crazy and be provocative , but that was it. So the perspective from 2023, cannot be compared to the 90´s . Was it OK, dunno...but we loved it. And yes, we acted exactly as these two girls in the video.

Seems pretty normal for teenagers of any generation to want to behave in ways that are not appropriate for their age. When you're young you don't know any better. You don't understand that there are people excited to take advantage of your lack of real world experience and your need to feel mature. Adults on the other hand SHOULD know better, and should be protecting children from their ignorance as best they can. Anything outside of that, in any generation present past or future is not okay. I remember loving that video as a twelve year old myself. Now that I'm older and wiser I see it for what it is. Weird and creepy.

Thank you for all your great contents, I enjoy them so much! I beleinve the biggest issue is not the young age acting in sensual manner but the message that is delivered to millions of young people! Including ME. Because of these kind of images I felt it is normal to be sexualized and maltreated by men - despite I was educated, finished a hard university :( My young ages were traumatic. I got back on track in my 30's, mostly in the middle, since I feel great and know my values but I feel sorrow for those gone and lost years. So yes, those parents exposed there OWN children but who cares about the society, the youngsters, who are influenced, they are the real victims!

Do you know how many songs there were about teenage girls throughout history? The things that are cringeworthy today, like sensualizing a teenage girl I think held less stigma in each decade as we go back in time. And even before Rock n Roll..parents were mostly ok with their daughters getting married at 14 to get them out the house, no matter the age of the man..as long as he had money to take care of her 😮 It’s shocking to us..but at least we FINALLY have awareness of how inappropriate these situations are..whew

actually crush was one of the few times an actual under age girl played an under age girl in a movie where they had scenes with any hint of adult situations, that didn't happen that often and most of the time early or just teenagers in general were played by actors in their 20s! James spader was like 31 in sixteen candles playing a teenager, the power rangers were all in their 20s, tom welling was 23 or 24 in the smallville pilot playing a 14 year old... holy shit have you ever seen grease!

I have mixed feeling about her being 15. I know at 15 I was a horny little teen and I was obsessed with boys and men. Our culture makes the sexuality of younger girls taboo understandably because the girls may not understand that there are men who would literally kill for it. I’m conflicted because I appreciate her owning her sexuality and feeling empowered. I think that movie should be redone and make it about the girls perspective and not about that man.

Owning one's sexuality and feeling empowered is great and all, but pairing a minor with a grown adult is very problematic.

I remember all this. I'm a year younger than Alicia and rememeber thinking it was all super weird and didn't understand why everyone seemed ok with it all. Liv taylor was also in a very sexual movie in 1995 called stealing beauty. I loved it but also thought it felt wrong for such a young girl to be in the role she was in.

If Steven Tyler recommended his daughter for the video and suggested how she is to act in it, the yes, it's cringe and uncomfortable. I think Liv was being a wild and crazy teen in the video. The kind of wild that existed in the 90's.

Alicia gained popularity because she was a risqué underage, blonde girl. Moreover, she had a juvenile aura about her and a pronounced lisp. Collectively, this was the embodiment of the Lolita archetype, and we are fooling ourselves if we think otherwise.
