It actually is, studies have shown that if one is exposed to mass amounts of highly attractive people shown in the media, it will have a negative impact on how they perceive their partner’s attractiveness or general people on the street. You may still look the same, but beauty is not tangible, if one is exposed to more highly attractive people, the bar of attractiveness will raise, so u may have been perceived as a 7, but now you’re perceived as a 5.

Something I learnt recently is that you don't need to look like a super model to have pretty privalege or to be beautiful, you don't need to have model features, or be a certain weight or anything. All you need to do to be beautiful is dress for your body type and take care of your health. Learning this has helped me so much and has made me feel so much more beautiful. I also learnt that beauty standards change depending on the timeline and cultures that exist within our planet. Any feature that you're insecure about will be or has been a trend at some point in time or at some place of the world. I genuinely believe everybody is beautiful including myself.

I really needed to hear every part of this video. In todays day and age, people become so consumed in the physicality of beauty and forget that beauty is fully within oneself. I feel that’s one of the major reasons people find it hard to love themselves
@Rain-cs3wp
@Rain-cs3wp Жыл бұрын
she’s literally right. she clarified my entire journey with beauty and self-image. the passion/care you find in what you love is beautiful. loving yourself and realizing your inherent worth is vital. something that made me understand that i wasn’t valuing myself was the realization that i constantly denied myself little things bc i felt i wasn’t worth it without a certain requirement being fulfilled. ie, i couldn’t put on perfume or makeup if i wasn’t going out, even if i wanted to do it. i couldn’t wear my favorite clothes if i wasn’t going somewhere worth it, even if i wanted to wear them. whenever i did that, it was a declaration of: “i alone am not worth the money/time spent on the things that i love or that make me feel good”. that is what i was saying. but i’ve finally come to realize that no, i am worth indulging in the little things that make me happy with no external sources to validate that. i am reason enough. beauty WILL come to you when you view yourself with value and then proceed to respect your value.

hi karissa- i am in my teens and i struggle a lot with self-image. i have a history of disordered eating, and i have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety. this video made me cry. you are a very big inspiration for me-you're kind, loving, smart, and beautiful (everything that i would like to be). when you're stuck in a depressive hole, especially when combined with an ED, it is incredibly difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. i am not traditionally attractive to euro-centric beauty standards-i am short, i have a big nose, and while i am relatively thin, i am not considered skinny by many. i rarely, if ever, receive compliments, and i often feel that i am unloved. this video really opened my eyes to why i feel so ugly all the time, and i am going to try to implement many of the concepts and tips that you mentioned in this video. recovery and healing is difficult, but i will try my best, and that is all that matters. thank you so much , angel xoxo

I’m three months postpartum and although I have gratitude for what my body did to bring new life into this world, not to mention that I feel lucky for being able to return to the figure I had prior to pregnancy, it can absolutely be difficult to navigate through the feelings we have about these new versions of ourselves! I have new stretch marks and loose skin in places where I didn’t before and I don’t always recognize those parts of me.. but we are only human and it’s ok to let these feelings come and pass! as long as we keep moving forward and continue to grow. I hope you can see the beauty in your new life giving body because it IS miraculous and feminine and wonderful 🤍

I’m not even finished with the video and I already love it and agree so much. “Stay away from those people. They are ugly and their ugly will rub off on you.” Also, as someone who is still in the process of healing emotionally, thank you for the reminders that my reactions can be ugly. This is a good context and puts those behavior patterns into a perspective I’ve never seen them in.

beauty is an abstraction from you're identity. Once you don't see it as you're identity and value you are free. You're energy, life perspective, how you feel, you're experience, is you're life force, is you're beauty to you.

On one hand you said- function from love, meet people with love. On the other hand you called people who act on their insecurities energy vampires. Both can’t go hand in hand. When you truly function from love, you are able to see why people do what they do. For this instance- if somebody is acting on their insecurities, that is happening bcz they don’t know any better. Functioning from love here would be to see their pain and sufferings and see how they cannot see their own limitations and feel compassion for them. You won’t feel the need to distance yourself from people who you’re labelling as energy vampires when you truly stand strong in who you are and you know no matter who you’re with or what negative circumstances you’re surrounded with, nothing will ever break you or shake you. A person truly functioning from love would never give another human being any kind of negative label. Your mere presence should be a complete embodiment of warmth and comfort.

I think these words have been said to me by now I've lost count of how many times and the truth is that I've always ignored them until I started listening to myself a little more without putting the problem aside. Living in an environment where I am often underestimated or judged, made me feel the need to loving myself, I had to love my soul or no one before me would have done it. This video affirmed the words that have been present in my life and I want to thank you. I genuinely want to thank you for being a point of reference and above all a sort of older sister. You are a wonderful person and I am deeply proud of you. I have been following you for a long time and I have perceived a strong connection between all of us. I searched up "How to feel beautiful" (and your video popped up and I saw how ethereal you looked) which reminded me of when I was younger and insecure I had searched this up. I once felt VERY beautiful, didn't compare myself to others, and highly maintained myself. My insecurity recently started when an ex (two years ago) called me fat when I was significantly skinnier (no details about what size). I derailed after being put on medications for my health and one of the side effects was weight gain. I gained over 50 pounds since then (I also entered a new relationship and he cooks well haha.) I wanna feel beautiful again and I forgot it all starts on the inside

Actually had to distance myself from a good friend, because she was become more hateful as time passes. Always making remarks about other women in public, becoming rude with staff at stores, and allowing toxic people to just run their life. It took awhile, but eventually realize I was feeling drained each time we hung out, especially if the toxic people were with us. Made me realize I was turning into someone else and decided it was time to step back.

I have to make another comment cuz u have really resonated with me at this moment in time. I;ve been having anxiety for like about a yr now since I went into university. It just seemed like I wanted to get everything done all at once and I haven't been beautiful at all. I was always stressing about grades, internships, scholarships, graduate programs and all of that just put me in a cognitive cage where I can't get out. And everyone around me was telling me to stay in that stress mode and tolerate it. Now I am fully aware that I can't live like this anymore. I was born to give out love, not to trap myself in a neverending toxic loop of anxiety. I know it takes practice and patience but I'll be once again beautiful.

Hey Karissa. I love these advice videos. Could you do one about jealousy (regarding others' succes)/ feeling like you're 'late' and one about feeling insecure on social media? I want to branch out on social media but I'm so critical of myself and have terrible social anxiety so whenever i post i get incredibly anxious. This is very important to me and i really admire your online presence. great video 🩷🩷🩷

I love this video so much and helped me to view life and how I act in a different way ♡ I always had a feeling and urge to do things with love but because of how people had taken advantage of that it made me scared to act on that urge of love but I feel that now I just have to stay away from people like that and hope they can be better in life. This encouraged me and validated my feelings to act more loving towards others I am so thankful !! ♡

ive always had an issue with beauty bc of its societal connotations and beauty standards being so oppressive and suffocating as a woman. it’s never felt like a choice but something imposed on me esp the more I’ve learned about its sociological dynamics as a feminist, but reframing it as love is a really great perspective. Ive also struggled with EDs and still have rly disabling BDD to the point that i’m homebound. I still question why we have to strive for beauty to begin with though and would rather just deconstruct it entirely but even regardless of our society I think as human beings that’s never gonna happen. so I have a rly complicated relationship w the concept of beauty esp since it’s very difficult to remove from its prescriptive societal dynamics, but I did appreciate and enjoy this reframing and your perspective on it!

i love you and your content so much !! story time(?) - i listen to subliminals and affirmation audios, and for a really good chunk of my life... i was really, really insecure. i wanted to change the way i look, thinking that if i looked a certain way or even acted a certain way, people would find me beautiful. which is absurd, now that i think about it. a lot of people have complimented my beauty, my attitude, my personality... i just somehow didn't see it. i've only recently started adjusting my mindset, and i came to a realization that i didn't want to look like anyone else. i didn't really want to change anything about me. i was very much grateful for who i am and what i look like. this video just proves that i'm on the right path, so i wanted to thank you, karissa 💕

things i would like to remember- 💭no one on this Earth is perfect so why are you chasing something that does not exist 04:02 do what I love every single day intentionally not just in my work but in my hobbies 💭 ask yourself what you spent time doing as a child? * when I'm not doing what I love I'm I'm so insecure!! * whenever you prioritize you, you radiate Beauty you radiate love like Aphrodite * don't insult ur inner child or urself (that's not funny...this makes u UGLY!) 08:37 see beauty in others * don't judge ppl * 08:50 tell ppl directly wat u love about them! * other people will not see the beauty in you unless you can see it in yourself * see the beauty in other people and not having bitterness and jealousy in your heart about that and you can truly just meet people with love again 10:31 ** you have got to let go of the bitterness in your heart towards beautiful people ** 11:38 - 12:40 !!! 12:51 stay away from energy vampires * having insecurities is normal * you can recognize that and not act on it (not b mean to others, spread rumors) * 14:08 be intentional w e/t u do (choose frnds wisely) 14:40 b grateful * thank god, for my beautiful smile! 16:50 enrich urself * intentional with the way that u speak * expand your vocabulary * just listening to more music or like of high value like music of high value watching more high value films reading more high value books things that are going to challenge your brain a little bit * at least once a day I like to go walk outside 💭other people can be beautiful doesn't make you less beautiful💭THISSS

When I started doing all (and i mean all) of the things shes listing a actually got prettier. I get compliments constantly, pretty privileges, I'm confident, I look in the mirror after waking up and I'm gorgeous, people ask if im wearing makeup when im not. Like she said the universe blessed me with beauty when i started walking with more love. It sounds woowoo but its so true.

its not that im jealous, i genuinely love it when i see someone beautiful. i go up n tell them. i wish more beauty upon them n ask God to protect them from any evil eye. I just also wish i had something they had, without anything happening to them. i just wish i could also be like that. i admire them. Also, i am conventially attractive according to beauty standards. I just have one thing wrong with m face, thats my nose. It rlly bugs me how if thats the ONLY thing i need to change to be 100% gorgeous according to todays standards. bc ik if i get a smaller nose id be reallllyyy pretty.

I have been going through a period of depression for some time now, but despite this I am struggling to recover my self-esteem and my will to live and this advice made me feel very good about myself, it made me feel that I can find strength and beauty within myself. Thank you very much for this and I wish you to be very happy in your life. Kisses from Brazil 💋 🇧🇷

i used to worry that people would not understand me or pick up the wrong energy from me because i'm a shy person. i chose to ignore that thought, just be myself and remain positive and uplifting. once i let go of that fear, i started hearing people have positive opinions of me without ever meeting me, as well as the people who know me. reminder that you don't have to be super extroverted to exude positive energy

FIRST OFF ALL, THIS VIDEO IS AMAZING 💕 I LOVED Is really important remember that If you are insecure, you don't will be confident "from night to day" or just whaching one or two videos, AND ITS OK, thats need praticing, as the same way you need pratice to undestand mathematic, but just the fate that you recognize your fears, your insecures, your defects, made you a better person that you was Yesterday I am learning english, in the beginning was so hard undestand basic pharses, and thats made me a litle frustrated, but now i can undestand this video wihtout a legend in portuguese (maibe whit dificult in some partes) but i am better 😋✋💕 (sorry if its have some mistakes lol)
