I literally just finished an Empire campaign on VH. I raced west to kill Kemmler so Bretonnia could flourish and protect my western flank, then went straight north because Festus was running riot. All the while, I had an army in Grunburg to hold off Sylvania until I was ready.

There are tonnes of museums and historical buildings in the UK that have that kind of helmet and armour on display. It’s just standard knight heavy armour. Weighs a tonne and would have been incredibly hard to fight in. It’s half the reason the lightly armoured English archers beat the heavily armoured French at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. The much larger French army got bogged down in the mud and couldn’t move/got slaughtered.

my last empire game I had marienburg, wissenland, brettonia, grom, and durthu all attacking my by turn 12, then the empire prestige event/confederation bug introduced in 2.2 hit. Altdorf is an absolute crapshoot on whether or not it turns into a thunderdome and I love it.

Agreed on the empire thing. Every time i think about doing a 20th skaven or other campaign i always end up playing karl / balathazar or Kislev. Feels like the 3 real "legendary difficulty campaigns" :)

I think the auto resolve in settlement battles still favors the defender bigtime even though its a open field battle.

Another kinda cool head to head, khorne vs khorne since the first cult is made in the northern chaos waste you can teleport up there and race valkia. Would be rather short but a fun one. Mazimundi vs lord skrolk I think would be given the classic skaven vs skaven and give a wide enough birth with plenty of legendary lord's around to throw a wrench. Thunder dome head to head, khalida vs lyonese each near the end of the dessert and with objectives to take it it over. Greentide bout, grom vs azghag as they swarm the empire and clash.

Very much an accurate helm on helmut at the beginning, the holes have to be small enough that a bodkin (armour piercing arrow) couldn't go straight through Franz helmet without plot armour means you die

Helmut's wearing a basinet or bascinet-type helmet. Pretty historically accurate, the visor had pinholes in it in an attempt to let light in but not arrows. Tended to have a rather limited field of view.

I find myself playing the empire so much. I love playing all factions, but a solid go to is the empire and it never bores me. Humies holding back the darkness, I've gotten to love playing boris ursus , but only having little grom as an artillery makes kislev to mono focused for me as I can't kills eaths of enemies under the burning light and flames of helstorms , steam tanks and hell blaster volley guns

Funnily enough the Empire is one of the few factions I won't touch. I like strong, immovable front lines and the Empire has basically everything but that. I love playing around the Empire and trying to prop them up despite how hard everything else tries to destroy them, but I've never been able to get past a few dozen turns as the Empire

Cool head to heads, Sea duel, sartossa vs norsca, or vampire coast vs dark elves. Sadly the best lord's for this star far away from each other. Battle of ruin, khorne vs beast men preferably khazarak vs the big guy as they meet in vampire territory. Morathi vs high elves is pretty good as well

head to head is the only way i play this game, me and a friend have done multiplayer campaigns since rome 2 i just wish the campaigns were a bit more balanced, i mean belakor vs empire is just asking for franz to get a spanking

Please do more h2h campaigns. i love all your videos but like these the most. A shame WoC are so bugged rn where most or all of your vassals become ghost vassals. I did a Vilich campaign with my brother getting hammered by cathay for 40 turns before finally realizing none of my vassals "exist" on the diplomacy screen and therefore weren't supporting me financially nor at war.

My friend and I have a homebrew rule where we are only allowed to take control of our own factions and legendary lords in H2H. It cuts down on us getting rude and trying to snipe one unit every battle. It keeps things fun

Me and my friend do the same because in our mind "that's not our army, we didn't earn using it" plus it makes our own factions feel like more our own when we finally fight each other, and we get to watch the battle cinematically.

@@MrFartquad right, but aside from Chaos being already ridiculous in campaign, Bela has the strongest faction mechanic in the game, especially in multiplayer. Spawn new portals in the Empire every 10 turns and you can go perma-raze every settlement constantly. Turin won't ever be able to go on the offense, he will need camp and defend with all armies and even that won't be enough, while Chaos expands ridiculously fast and safe. They clearly weren't aware just how incredibly unfair the portals are when they picked this matchup
