My 2c on the matter; 1. From a business perspective: I think that fashion directed towards heavier people is becoming very commercial and its here that lies the largest scope for profits (no pun intended) as our population gets heavier. After all, bigger men/women want to be stylish too! 2. I think its important/good to have body weight, gender, sexual, religious & racial diversity in the world of fashion. After all while there are many exclusive/elite brands out there, at the same time fashion is for everyone. 3. I am slim but i have a very hourglass figure (my waist is so small that some people are convinced that i must have worn a corset but i really have never worn one in my life!) and the biggest problem i get when trying on fashion is my boobs (as quite frankly there aren't may size UK 10/12 girls out there with natural 32E boobs. Though i average out at a size UK 12 i wear everything from an 8 to a 14 due to my hourglass figure). Although i know that fashion always has to be quite commercial, i do personally find it frustrating shopping as most designers seem to tend to assume that if you're skinny/slim you must be curve-less (which is certainly not true for many who are slim through healthy active lifestyle and not starvation dieting!). 4. I do however respect Karl Lagerfeld as a designer as not only is he entitled to his opinions, but even if not everything he says is entirely agreeable he is honest and thinks his opinions through in his own way (which is a lot more than can be said for so many "sheeple" who just try to follow majority opinion & style etc all the time without thought because they don't have the brains, confidence nor style to be any different). 5. Be confident in your own style and be at peace with yourself (no matter what your age, sexuality or bodyweight etc). Life is not a dress rehearsal!

Personally, i intensely dislike this man. First off, he's clearly remarkably shallow. Second, not being stick thin doesn't mean you are unhealthy. Finally, he was asked about why he still uses real fur despite it's cruelty and he said "It's horrible, no? So i prefer not to know it". He's deliberately turning a blind eye to the cruelty that his ridiculously overpriced clothes are causing because he'd rather not know it since it would be an inconvenience to him. That's not a good guy.
