Aura Rose Fitzgerald i dont think it showed that she was unoriginal but mimicked her idols and brought a light on modern women who loved. she was inspired by them, she didnt copy those exact looks but made them into her own style making them more chic and comfortable for an everyday woman instead of the elite. But i do agree with the casting everyone was casted perfectly except Coco herself, I guess no one can really portray her versatile personality perfectly. but miss knightly was also the face of chanel at the time i believe so its make sense for her to act her role

That's very ironic...considering Mademoiselle Chanel's take on fashion was to move away from the feminine and towards easy to wear and comfortable. She'd significantly reduced the size and frill of the hat, shortened the hemline and streamlined the skirt and also started using jersey (the cloth), which was used only for men's underwear then, for women's outerwear.
@vintagerose12108 жыл бұрын
Yes, but she still wanted clothing to be elegant, "luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury"; she still wanted her clients to look beautiful and put together. T-Shirts and jeans, (unless properly styled) look lazy, and rather pathetic in my opinion. But I understand where you're coming from. I believe SANA means to say, there needs to be more thought and effort put into the average person's wardrobe these days. Chanel put in the effort to make her style comfortable AND elegant, whilst too many people today do not.
@Deed19798 жыл бұрын
+Vintage Rose Absolutely agree with you. She wanted classic and elegant clean cut lines (not the in-your-face frills and flouncy of the time) without being mundane or pedestrian. Complicated thought and yet so simple. That's why I love Chanel! She even managed to make faux fashionable and elegant! With the faux pearls and the No. 5 I mean. I apologize for rambling on, but she's my greatest inspiration...as a woman.
