In a way, he is very much right. Before the modern age started, 90% of species on the planet were already extinct and not by our fault. That is the natural way of things, a perhaps getting too involved in trying to save all the species is actually preventing nature from running its course. As always, in between Karl's gibberish, there is some seriously profound wisdom.

the future isn't 'supposed' to turn out in a specific way, but if you accept that there are basic laws of nature that exist across every spectrum of the universe, then you must also accept that the universe will ultimately resemble something that the laws force it to resemble. much like if you tip water out of jug, it will always fall to the floor assuming there is gravitational pull. everything is pre-determined, but not specifically intended.
@dougr.22454 жыл бұрын
What Karl doesn't see is that we have "mucked about" with nature for a few thousand years. the dodo didn't die out because it was designed badly. It was perfectly suited to it's environment & thrived until people arrived & wiped them out. Karl somehow can't see the larger picture. He's a stream of consciousness kinda guy only reacting to his immediate experience with no backstory.
@CrizzyD913 жыл бұрын
Too many people here think that Karl is really some genuine philosopher and aren't recognising that he's looking at things through a tiny lens. The Dodo is a perfect example of his opinion being totally based on nothing! I still love Karl though of course...
