I'm 73 years old. I've been a race fan since I was about 6. In those days I would go to the stock car races at our local track once a week with my Dad. I looked forward to it every week. As an adult, I continued my love of racing - even starting to build a car about 40 years ago. I never got to race in a real car on a real track, but my love of racing has been satiated by sim racing. I've been racing for just over a year now, and feel the only thing keeping me away from the podium is the seat I'm sitting in. If I had a GT Omega seat, I'd be on the podium every race. Currently rocking a T300 on NLR GT Lite. If for some reason I'm picked for the giveaway, well then I guess I'd have plenty reason to finally upgrade the rig to an 8020 cockpit, and a DD wheelbase, and nicer pedals, and bass shakers, and so on and so on. If you want to enable this neverending addiction I'd be very grateful to tumble down the slippery slope of rig upgrades. Thanks for the videos! Always appreciate the honesty!

Great review! I've had this seat for about a month now, and the only complaint I have is the fabric on the base is loose/folded a bit already. Everything else about it is much better than the RS6, especially the temperature and back support. The fact I can race in jeans and a long sleeve shirt without getting insanely sweaty is so nice. That would've been impossible in the RS6. One thing to note is how wide the seat base is. Depending on where you have your shifter arm it may press against the seat pretty hard

Once again an honest review, like you I hate my PU leather office chair. Currently waiting for my Prime Lite to arrive after watching your review, first cockpit, finally got the missus on my side. I was on the fence and didn't order a seat yet, I was waiting on your review for this seat this because the dimensions are important for me and like you I get hot when racing and I don't need anymore pleather in my life. This would be a great addition to my new prime lite, I wouldn't need a spatula to pull myself from a PU seat.

Hey Karl, Totally agree that fabric seats are superior to leather or fake leather seats in all aspects. I finally upgraded from having my wheel mounted on my desk and pedals on the floor to having a wheel stand, GT Omega Apex. When I'm using it with my desk chair it feels like I'm missing something that the GT Omega RS12 (planning on getting the Apex Rear Seat Frame at some point) would solve by allowing me to sit lower and have a more appropriate driving angle. This should give me more confidence on the brakes that I'm not going to roll backwards and left off the brakes.

Karl, I’d like to put my name in the ol’ hat, my reasoning being that I’m currently looking to get something better than the portable beach-chair setup I currently use and get a big-boy setup. My gf does not agree, and living in Norway -our gracious (and stupidly rich) government puts a vat and toll on all things almost doubling the price of anything shipped from abroad, when looking at seats, they are usually 5-600£ by the time I get them, not to mention the rig itself. So basically, saving some cash on the chair might mean my gf doesn’t kick me out, hence might b a lifesaver (as mentioned, live in Norway, going homeless in winter is a bad ida, it’s coooold) Thanks for your review and honest and down to earth approach. Can the shifter support rail be mounted on the right hand side out of the box for N.America...and then will the reclining lever for the seat interfere with it? Seems great for UK drivers but im on the fence as a US driver.

Karl, I love the channel. I bought the GT Omega ART off your review. Also, did your upgrades stiffen it. I need that seat so I can give it to my buddy. I have a buddy who wanted to get into sim racing. I had a Moza R5 bundle and decided to upgrade to an R9, GS wheel, and Asetek pedals. I gave my R5 bundle to my buddy and recommended he look into getting at least a wheel stand. He ended up buying a GT Omega ART... but without a seat to save money. So he is racing with the full frame assembled, and an office chair plopped all tippsy turvey on top, lol.

Nice mate, I recently bought the R12. I got the Carbon PVC which part PU Leather and part fabric (fabric in the centre where it needs to be). With the current discount + ur discount code it came to around £177 which isnt too bad. Not the best seat in the world but for the price its decent (the next seat options are around £300)

To give you a little bit of background. My wife wouldn't let me have a rig because of space concerns, she gave me the option to get a cockpit if I sell my sofa-bed, the one I used when she sends me off the bed because of my snoring. Long story short I miss my sofa bed, but there is light coming from your review, when you laid down in the RS12, I saw myself there (without you, just the seat and I) sleeping comfortably. This seat would replace my sofa-bed and also be my race seat! I win my wife losses! Thank you!!!

Hey Karl, great review as always and really agree with you regarding cloth vs PU Leather. I have an Extreme Sim Racing rig and the seat that came with it is very lacking (no slider, minimum padding - pressure on my legs, etc.) I have a separate lumber support from my real car and an additional foam pillow I sit on, so I really, really, really, need your giveaway GTOmega seat. I would imagine one could mod it to make the chair swivel by mounting on a board and mounting the board to the chassis. This would be ideal for me if the chair is comfy. You could easily clip it in so it wont move whilst driving. Turning it around to use for other vr games would save me alot of space. (I sit alot playing as I have lower back issues).

@@hoopdaboop Yeah Ill see when it arrives Friday (Titan). Short on space so It would be nice to be able to. But hey, Ill probably only play GT7 when I get it, so for me...probably unnecessary. What I did realize was how easy ANY office chair, taken off its wheel base can easily be modded to fit these rigs. A 300$ office leather chair is way more comfy than a 600$ racing seat.

Got one with the Prime Lite. I'm not small, 110kg and 180cm tall and it feels a big seat to me with loads of room so if you're on the chunky side you've no issues fitting in this. I also have back problems, had 2 lumbar spinal ops, and managed 4 to 5hr sessions with no issues although I do find it a bit more comfier using the lumbar support but in real life both in the car and the truck I drive I do have lumbar raised to the max in those.

I've got 20cm and 20kg on you at 2m03 and ~130kg, do you reckon this seat will work for me as well? I'm looking to upgrade from a wheel stand with armchair to a full rig but a bit hesitant to order something I can't really try out, especially since, even for a dutch person, I'm quite a bit bigger than average 😅 and my back is messed up as well, so the chair had to be good.

The seat would replace my recent seat which is PU leather (an old 3A Racing seat from some old car I think), and yes it is VERY cold even though my rig is 1 meter away from the radiator. Thanks for the review Karl!

Don't worry about sending that sweet carbon edition RS12 seat to me. It would make my humble setup pop though. No really, Karl . . . my plastic, short-back jon boat seat conversion works just fine for about 20 minutes until I feel plastic edges digging into my back. Good thing I'm racing with a stock G29 brake pedal!

Hi Karl I'm very new to the sim racing world and currently have a folding NLR GT-lite and I have to use your foldaway video every time I have to fold it away because its so damn complicated 😂 I feel as if I'm getting better in fact I think my best foldaway time is faster than my PB around the Nordschliefe at the moment (probably something I should not boast about) anyway enough waffle. I think you should give me the seat because I'm trying to persuade my wife to come on board with the idea of me upgrading to a prime lite when we move in to our new home if i get the free seat she will have no choice in the matter and you will forever be my hero. Gotta agree with you, plastic or PU leather is an annoying material in long term :D Fabric is a lot better IMO aswell. Got myself a NLR GT Ultimate seat add on for a reasonable 'clearance' price, couldn't be happier :)

Currently I've got a one-armed bucket seat from the back of a minivan I picked up off the side of the road. It's leathery (likely pleather). Got a Driving Force GT with MOMO pedals (the wheel was missing its pedals, and they were cheap and work with it) clamped to a basic wheel stand I built out of an old shelf and some MDF. Took me a while to put that setup together (originally had a Driving Force Pro, which is identical to the GT but has an even smaller wheel), and I'm trying to upgrade the whole setup over time on very little budget. You should give it to me because, uh, my setup kinda sucks, and let's be honest here, the real reason is because I'd have less sweaty balls. No one likes sweaty balls. Except your mom.

I came from a rs6 seat, purchased the xl seat last month. Decided to send it back for the new rs12. I’m glad I made that decision. The rs12 is nice, doesn’t get hot, is more comfortable than both the rs6 and xl. Karl you didn’t mention that both the headrest and lumbar pillow are memory foam, which adds a nice touch to the final product

@@silvercarbin-q8666 I’m 6’2 250 size 38-40 waist with R/A and herniated discs. I’ve owned 4 gt omega seats 1. Stay away from the rs6, it’s on another rig but. May be good for skinny guys 2. Stay away from the xl. It’s flimsy and hot, not as comfortable for me compared to the following. I returned it 3. I’m currently using a rs9. It’s not bad, good hip support, but lacking in lower lumbar support. But it’s hot 4. I still have the rs12, it’s huge and I mean huge. The fabric is nice, it’s cool, and comfortably. It feels more solid. But for me there’s 0 hip support, I feel if your really tall, or have a size 42w plus then I’d go with that seat. If my son decides to sim race then I’ll just give it to him. He’s a little bigger than I am

Karl, great review as always. One question if I may, are other seats easily compatible with a Prime Lite rig / aluminium profile? Ie does an All profile rig make it compatible with any seat on the market? I'm at the stage of getting into sim racing properly. I've just sold my play seat challenge and thrust master set up and have a Fanatec kit needing a proper rig! Also, I need you to please give me that carbon seat because my two children, my cat and I (I'm a lone single parent) are about to move in with my girlfriend who has a Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy. I got one of these with my new prime lite cockpit It’s a great seat, very comfortable….a bit tricky to fit the front runner bolts though as the runners don’t overhang the front of the seat.

Great review as always! The rs12 carbon seat would make a great addition to my non existing sim rig, Fairly new to sim racing so currently have my setup on a desk but i am planning on upgrading eventually(with your codes of course) to a Prime lite as i have not a lot of room and the prime lite seems to be a perfect size to fit, however i believe that my cat would love another chair to make hairy whilst i'm not using it and when i want to sit down give me a look of absolute disgust!

I went from a Honda Accord adjustable seat to a fixed back NRG Prism. I was worried about not having the adjustability, but it’s so amazing. No flex, insanely comfortable, and looks so much cooler. Take my advice and skip these cheap seats that every rig company sells and get a full bucket seat. It’s worth the extra money! Also with an adjustable seat you set it once and never move it again, so what’s the point? 😂

I would love to have that seat.. I currently have a wheel stand.. and my chair.. on wheels keeps moving. Its pretty bad, so bad I'm trying to think of a method to put breaks on the wheels with a 3d printer. Like a baby stroller would have. I'm a newfie (newfoundland) and I just tell people who play that's a newfie actuator seat. Only tends to roll to the left tho. edit: great video too.. nice review.

Karl, Thanks for the review. I have been waiting for a review since these appeared on the GT Omega website. SHould have known you would be first. Why should give me the GT OMega RS12 seat is because I will be getting a GT Omega Prime rig, yes I will be using your link, for my 15 years long service award but the pennies in the company do not stretch to include a seat. So a rig without a seat and only an apple box to sit on will be... 1. Not very comfortable. 2. Not very practical for sim racing and 3. I would then have to put a video of my rig on YT for people to slate my rig, so I would end up being a laughing stock more than I am now 🤣 I live in the UK and willing to collect if needed. Saves you delivery costs. Once again thank you for this review and the other reviews you do on your channel.

My new RS12 seat is too wide for the Prime rig! The plastic around the recliner part rubs on the shifter mount rear vertical post! I have to have the seat not centred to clear that post.

@@KarlGosling I shifted the whole wheel deck and shifter mount forward pushing the pedals further forward as a result. its ok like this. Just a first time 80/20 builder error I guess. I do have a problem with the seat being to flat on the bottom part and no way to angle up the thigh part of the seat. I'm going to have to modify the mount at the front of the seat to get angle up.

I realy need it😅 just Got the dd1 and i have the v2 pedals… i feel like every time I hit the brake I go into the other room… I like the realism with the G force but it is the wrong way🔛 Plus’s you you can lay it down and act like you are sleeping when your parents are checking up on you at 3pm 🕒

I got mine yesterday, i dont like it, i find the base part of the seat too flat, i feel im always having to hold myself into the seat to stop my bum from sliding off, almost like it need an incline in the base of 7-8 degrees, might see if i can adapt it somehow

Karl please give me the RS12 - I'm putting together my first full proper rig and struggling to justify the costs to my long-term partner... So far I've justified my second-hand T-GT ii and T-LCM pedals by saying it's going to be useful for teaching her to drive! Obviously not 100% true... but she's bought the excuse so far and kinda shrugged it off! She is about to start driving lessons but as you can see I'm scraping the barrel a touch, and could use a freebie to help justify the rest of the cockpit.
