ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions. ABOUT US Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.

There are many such Yogis in India. Just that they do not come into public contact. But Swami Sarvapriyananda is undoubtedly an extraordinary monk.

Summary Around min 5: People think that they are living life, but actually it's just a role. They mistaken a mere role as living life. Ultimately nothing is happening, relatively everything is happening. Around min 8: On Desirelesness Reminds me of a buddhist / indian master (I forgot was it longchenpa or chandrakirti?) Saying moreso: Good and bad is a dream... And even if there is something called enlightenment, it is also a dream! But right now, you are allowed to have one desire, that is the desire for enlightenment. The illusory practitioner travels the illusory path towards the illusory goal/enlightenment. Around min 11: Reminds me of the three type of enlightened being I heard from Tibetan Buddhism: The shravaka buddhas and the pratekya buddhas are afraid of samsara. But for bodhisattvas, they are also afraid of nirvana. Because of their wisdom and nondual compassion, they want to stay in samsara. But their wisdom would not let them dwell in samsara. So where are they? Madhya maka. Middle way. Thank you swamiji! I have been listening to random youtube talk and recently I found swamiji's talk very helpful 🙏🙏

It’s impossible to let go of desires .the ego identity is a bundle of desire. Saying I dont want anything won’t work. What helps is to say. I will accept what ever comes .then surrender can start and resistance can grow less.

"Brahman" is the set of methodologies within Vedas for offering worships and sacrifices to the Brahman (almighty) as the Brahman (offerings) by the Brahman (doers). The state of being connected in such a manner with the "Brahman" (the methods) may make us one with it, but do we all do that?

I think there is no start and end of this birth, it's loop. Unless you break away from this cycle

Since you are Ttached to the body-mind complex
@revolvernflower

You are the doer as long as you identify yourself as the body-mind. The consequences of karma are applicable to the body-mind, not the real you. The real you is forever free from Karma and its results.

You don't get karma phal, your sukhsma shariram does. Sukshma shariram is the doer. Doership and ignorance are one. Who is ignorant? The sukshma shariram. Under ignorance, Atman appears as the karana shariram, giving results of karma, the causal body, cause of all.
