First time hearing this as well. Pretty good. Your positive reaction to this causes my to recommend Shadow Gallery and Enchant. Both bands have extensive catalogs. 😎

Stockman holds all of this together with that free and tight bass. This band is very eclectic. Perfect prog music. Love it Tom!

k well, you've reacted to two of my top ten bands in a short time so i'm subscribing. (the mars volta is the other one. my fav band since i was 18. i am 36.) you'd probably enjoy coheed & cambria. took me years to realize they were prog because i only remembered their most famous song from my teenage years 😅

I never knew 27/4 could groove like that before hearing this album.

Yeah but you don't hear it that way. Three bars of 7/4, one bar of 6/4 is how you should interpret it for simplicity's sake.

@@gSWG3R I can't fault you there, it would be the only reasonable way to count the song playing live.

'Not much progginess'? Watch Rick Beato's breakdown of that song, it's much, much complex than you think...

@ophreacts214 11 ай бұрын
Not saying it's not complex, just that there wasn't a lot in terms of tempo changes, time signature changes, different movements with different instrumentation, etc, which is how I roughly describe "proggy". It's a solid track for sure. Thanks for the listen and comment!

@@rodwhitfield3029 It's entertaining when an individual without much expertise confidently shares their opinion on a subject, then leans on someone else to explain their argument. Complexity =/= progressiveness. Classical music boasts incredibly intricate musical passages, yet it doesn't inherently qualify as progressive. Progressive music thrives on defying conventions and pushing the limits of musical expression, transcending mere "complexity." Consider that many jazz compositions exhibit more complexity than this particular song. Does that imply jazz is progressive music? Clearly not.

@@mitchellwilliam95 It's entertaining when someone who has NO idea what they're talking about misreads what's been said by so far it's quite astonishing. That was exactly and precisely the reacter's point, not complex = not proggy. He even states it for you, right there in plain English, two comments above your own. You must have the comprehension skills of a tree stump 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
