This week has shown what a fighter Pliskova is. She's the silent assassin. I was hoping Badosa would pull through (she's my new favorite player) but she played so much tennis between singles and doubles this week so understandable that she was worn down physically. Hopefully we see both do well at the US Open

Pliskova is in deadliest of form of late. Making it to the finales this year of Rome, Wimbledon, Montreal & now semis of Cincinnati this week, just goes on to show that something really big is in store for her in near future. May be a Slam or two coupled with WTA Year End Championship...💁 She got to keep up the good work going though unless & until she finally materializes something really big for her....☝🏻 It's her time to rise & shine above all....🤗 God bless you lady....💐

Badosa is really impressive. Huge hitting from the baseline that’s very controlled. She can hit down the line consistently. If she added more variety to her game, I think she would be a serious threat in Grand Slams

Badosa seemed physically fine when she was up 4-0 in the first set 😏 Pliskova utilizing her easy power (that most players can only dream they had) was most effective, especially on capitalizing on Paula's weak serve.

I knew Badosa was injured at the 6th game of the first set, probably she made more unforced errors today than in the whole tour so it couldn't be "normal", she had something. But it's ok, now she needs to recover to back with this solidity. That hug at the end was historical cuz I just saw Pliskova hugging her sister Kristyna 😂

Here is the strategy.. for hot and humid weather. Initially Pliskova was sluggish and slow and bounced back. I see quick returns and minimize long rallies help. But some how she managed the energy flowing and used wisely I think.. lets see next rounds.

What percentage of wta matches are retirements these days? It's becoming farcical. I'd like to know the figures to compare with previous years over a couple of decades. But this is becoming very bad for the game. There are just so many matches which aren't completed.

@@manicpanic8226 these days it is. It just seems to be getting worse and worse. So many anticlimaxes. I'm not suggesting they are all faking it, apart from maybe one or two hypochondriacs. But the WTA really needs to look at what is causing this and make suggestions to change things because it is really scuppering so many tournaments which fans pay to see.

Pliskova's two biggest improvements in the last couple of months has to be her movement and her mental toughness. That was missing for a while. With such similar games I've always wondered why her sister, Krystina hasn't followed her same recipe. She is arguably slower than Karolina but if she got her fitness up to.par Karolina, and with her advantage of being a lefty, there is no.reason why she cannot have the same success. That said, tennis is such a mental.sport and maybe that's where Krystina is not.on par with her sister

Gauff - Osaka ? Stephens - Kvitova ? Is it easy draw?? Only Pegula goes quite far in this tournament. I think the easiest draw here is Barty, she hasnt faced any big hitter, and she overcomes Vika easily. This tournament is filled with many WTA top players that makes draw seems very tough

Pliskova on paper has plenty of weapons. Her only weakness other than movement because she's a tall power player is between her ears. Tennis is a struggle, and she needs to learn not to get down on herself and keep her head in the game. I would love to see that, her whole game would open up and 4-5 major wins could be the result. Stay cool like the Fonz Karolina, don't let the little stuff get you down and if that happens and you learn to stay focused, your opponents will dread seeing you in their draw and you could do some great things. You are too talented to not be a major winner and are a lot closer than you may think. Maybe ask Simona Halep what she did since she had similar problems and how she overcame them and Simona while a much better mover than you ,did it without a weapons grade serve which you have and is a tremendous advantage. Now go out and make that sh%$ happen Karolina!

I hate when "Pliskova's Broomstick wins" is such a boring player, so monotonous and without any variety of game, just hit and hit and hit to hit the ball and that's it, I NEVER see her making a great play. 🤫👎🏾
