Alice Blackwell gelatin is cheaper and more accessible than liquid latex, at least if you live in the USA (try any grocery store) :)

Alice Blackwell You can actually make FX gelatin yourself. Here's the recipe: 1 part unflavored gelatin 1 part glycerin 1.5 parts water Microwave for about 10-12 seconds or until it's completely melted

Nichole Sienna You can just put it into a container and remelt it when you need it. It only sets once it's cooled down, so microwaving it makes it liquid again.

I stoped listening to Panic! at the Disco for this video. It was more than worth it :D This is exactly what I need for Halloween, as I want to slit my throat (not really people, don't worry) and make it all pastel gore. This helped a lot!! This is just something I'm guessing might help, but I think you should use a wig cap while working with liquid latex if you don't want it in your hair.

Thank you for this step by step tutorial. I bought the exact latex, and two blood products that you used. The steps were super easy to follow. However, there was nuisances that I ran into that I wanted to share for the novices out there. First, I added two many layers and didn't extend the latex far enough outside of the tissues. So when I tried to cut a small hole to get started, my scissors that were NOT sharp enough wouldn't cut through. It ended up pull the one side off my neck. So repairs happened there. For the inside of the cut, I didn't have red powder eye shadow. I could only find red cream eye shadow. It looked the same but the coagulated blood wouldn't apply. It just rolled off. :( My friends thought it looked great but I had really hoped it would have turned out like Karolina's. I need a do-over!
