there is also the importance if avoiding logical falicies while knowing how to call them out. calling out logical falicies will win you any arguments due to how many people actively use them without realizing it. makes for an excellent set up

Really good and easy-to-understand summary of a complex book. Thank you so much for taking the time to do that. You just won a new subscriber! :)

Schopenhauer was not there to win, he couldn't care less. he was a truth seeker
@karolinasowinska3 жыл бұрын
For sure. But he must have been annoyed with other people not being such truth seekers. So he kept thinking about all the dirty tricks that others were pulling in discussions, and eventually he wrote a little book about them.

Where do you exactly find these tricks in Schopenhauer? It seems to me that definitions are well contextualized by Schopenhauer (see "The Fourfold Root of the Principle of Sufficient Reason", in particular his critics against Decartes and Spinoza)

I got the book. I gave up on it because it was written in a very hard to understand 19th century style.

Oh that's a great question... I suggest watching any of Donald Trump's interviews or reading his old tweets. For example "October 2020 - Covid, Covid, Covid is the unified chant of the Fake News Lamestream Media. They will talk about nothing else until November 4th., when the Election will be (hopefully!) over. Then the talk will be how low the death rate is, plenty of hospital rooms, & many tests of young people"
