Omg! I have that same chair! I reupholstered mine years ago. Mine was my grandparents’. I have a picture of my Dad holding me and we’re both asleep. I was probably 3 years old. I’ll be 55 in a few months. You found an awesome antique.

I love the painting, it adds some needed color. If you put a few blue items (like a vase, etc) here and there in the room and maybe one blue pillow on the bed, that will help tie in the painting. The room is so much lighter and fresher now. Great job!

First I gotta say I love my daylight bulbs. I will never again use the yellow looking ones. When my daughter got her first apartment she found lamps at Goodwill exactly like the ones you have for close to the same price. And that was a long time ago. Everything you did looks great.

Kerri, I find when I stain wood, it goes better if Use a conditioner on it first (you can use a moist cloth first if the stain is water based. I also make sure to wipe with the grain. If I want a heavier coverage, a very tiny circular motion working down the grain works well. See two buttons one on each upper corner of the duvet. Turnt the duvet cover inside out and attach a biased tape loop to each upper corner that the button can go through, button and turn right side out. Some covers have ties already attached on the inside.

I also think it was a good idea to take the desk out. Less is best sometimes. The mirror makes the room look bigger and the picture above the bed is beautiful. What a great find. Removing the tv and mounting it, to me was a good idea. The room looks brighter and bigger and of course; the lights definitely help. I use those same bulbs through out our house. I love the dark wall...the new color looks good too. I also have the exact same water color print above the bed ...thrift store find. It reminds me of: a bridge I had to cross over, water with Smokey mountains in the distance. An abstract visual. Love it!!
