I think when Sharon called Lemmy, he was experienced enough and knew very well how the music business works. So they gave Lemmy an upfront advance plus a few cents for each song published. And since the album went 4 times platinum, Lemmy made one or two million dollars.

Lemmy Kilmister passed away in December 2015 at age 70. At the time, the estate of the Motorhead frontman was estimated to be worth north of $8 million. However, records newly released by a London probate office suggest that Lemmy was only worth around $646,000 at the time of his death.Mar 3, 2024 That's unbelievable isn't it? He didn't even own a home. Rented a apartment for 20 years.

In Lemmy, The Movie, he stated that there went controls that stopped the rent being inflated unreasonably. Found it. 32 minutes in. "This apartment is like a museum. I've seen museums with less sh*t in them, than I got. It serves a purpose, like it was available and it was near The Rainbow, You know? Which was tye only point of reference in LA that I had. Why don't you move? "Well for one thing, I'm never gonna get a place for the money that I'm paying here. I've got a place that's rent controlled. They can't put it up by more than a certain percent a year... I'm never gonna get a deal like that" He got a Grammy nomination for 1916. Don't! It's miserable. Proceed with caution. You have been warned!

Sharon Osbourne sat at the feet of her father Don Arden. Arden ripped off the Small Faces big time. Arden screwed over many bands and Sharon has a Full Skill Set ripping bands and individuals off big time. Mama I’m coming home was Lenny song. One can count on being taken advantage if dealing with the Crooked Sharon.

I’am actually surprised that Lemmy’s net worth was actually that much, I truly believe if Lemmy hired a solid fiduciary music business manager and yes managers of this caliber do exist. Plus if he had some self control by eliminating the call girls, drugs, alcohol and impulsive spending behaviors he would be a multimillionaire and still be with us today!… R.I.P. Lemmy ♠️ …

Yea But I don’t think Lemmy would agree with your story, why would he want millions of dollars he had ‘everything’ his home his club in (walking distance) his music his fans his cigarettes his whisky he could earn enough to live comfortably enough the way he wanted to live millions of dollars isn’t needed, other folk yes, anyway someone else would get it you can’t take it with you can you!

@loafersheffield11 сағат бұрын
Got, Under Cover, 2 months ago. It's an absolute banger. Lemmy initially didn't want to cover Heroes, but Mickey and Phil convinced him. He was very happy that they did. Been a Motorhead fan, on and off, now seriously back ON, for 35 years. Try 1916, for weeping potential. Gets me every time. Sabaton's cover is good. There's some uploads of 1916 with very grainy WW1 footage and pictures. Reasons other than being a metalhead. My granddad survived.

Just a couple of points of clarifications - "Motorhead were opening for Ozzy in 1981.." - showing a programme for a gig that Motorhead headlined with Ozzy one of the supporting acts. "Motorhead weren't selling out stadiums..." That same stadium gig was sold out.

@@karsguitarchannel6088 Nice calculation of Leny's publishing royalties. But its muscalculated. Because you didnt include Zakk's cut whatsoever
@karsguitarchannel60883 күн бұрын
@@evangelistbrianbaker I don't think Zakk got publishing. He was too young when he joined Ozzy, only 18 years old. Zakk once said that with Ozzy he was paid more money than when he was pumping gas. I think they gave Zakk (like Jake E Lee) an upfront advance and some money for his guitar arrangements and recording but not publishing credits. I think for Ozzy and Sharon, writing a song it's 50% melody and 50% lyrics. So Ozzy came up with the melodies and Lemmy wrote the lyrics on those 4 songs. So Ozzy and Lemmy got publishing.
@usagarage17046 күн бұрын
To sum it up, we have no idea how much he was paid. Did he even receive royalties or was he paid outright up front?
@karsguitarchannel60886 күн бұрын
He was receiving publishing royalties. Lemmy got about 1-2 million dollars. I think I calculated the minimum. 25 cents for each record sold was a standard. So Lemmy must have received at least a million dollars.
