OKA HANDOVER - FIRST LOOK AT THE NEW TRUCK!!

TWO YEARS IN THE MAKING and we are FINALLY HERE!! The time has come for our Australian Made and Built Expedition Truck to finally be handed over to us!
It felt like this day would never come, but here we are... and in this episode you'll find out if the wait for really worth it???
Come with us as Karstan flys from the east coast of Australia, all the way over to the West Coast, so that he can get a run through, see the OKA's capabilities and of course give his tick of approval.
This is the beginning of a big dream becoming a reality, the OKA is soon to be our new home on wheels and we are officially BACK ON KZbin to share it alllllll with you.

Nice vehicle, Karstan. This video reminds me of my Unimog training in New Zealand, several decades ago. Our trucks had the proper size tyres, unlike the cheaper undersized tyres that the Australian Defence Force purchased. This experience is obviously far more special for you, because it is your own brand new vehicle. I wish you and your family many happy kilometres of driving.

Have you never been in a big 4WD before mate ? Huge tires and good articulation make a massive difference ! Strongly suggest you join a 4WD Club to learn how to best use the vehicle. Learning the vehicles limitations will help you avoid damage and keep from getting stuck. It would be a wise investment. I love the hard core way these rigs are built, they're mining grade vehicles, totally different from a standard production line vehicle. You don't have space to waste on an indoor shower, that's CRAZY....

So incase you didn’t know there are restrictions on both rear overhang and numberplate angles, so a push bike on the rear behind the spares won’t work legally, and the safe t cams will ping you on number plate angles. Same with speed since you are limited to 100kmh once your gvm is 4.5t or above, the average cameras fitted all in nsw/qld/vic are linked. As for the build out, probably worth talking to Tom at Ultrafab, he is in boolaroo, and has done a couple of custom built truck bodies and fitouts, infact he has mine getting done currently and is up for handover next week (it’s a dual cab canter)

Wow do I envy you!! Just saw your utube bit on the side of something else and having wanted one of these since they first came out I am still wanting! Wanted a Holden Overlander when Arthur first put them out as well. Used to walk past his factory every day and drool through the roll a door onto the street and see what he had in there next. And I still have neither of them. Overlanders now are an unaffordable collector car and my wife would have nothing to do with an OKA. Siiigh

Nice one! We did 2 .5 years in our oka 20 years ago around oz with our kids ! Oka 316! Would have loved a diff lock and auto back then ! One thing I would say lift the pop top higher and put a bed up the top! Get into it ! Best life
