Well done to Warholm! The record which he broke was set by Kevin Young in 1992. That record stood for 29 years! What's even better is the fact that he broke the record in his own country. I'm very proud of him. 👏🏿

Funnily enough the Americans hold only one of the short distances world records at the moment (Aries Merritt in 110 meters hurdles). The remaining distances 100 & 200 meters (Bolt), 400 metres (van Niekerk) and 400 meters hurldes (Warholm ) belong to athletes from other countries. I didn't include the 60 meters in this equation on purpose because it isn't an Olympic event.

@@borneocoolpad7833 nah I think he's just in *that* fast shape. Isn't that his first 400mH race of the season?! Or second race perhaps. The athletes that peak too early are generally the NCAA athletes and that's just from too many races. Warholm seems to just be getting started! Plus he ran that race with a headwind in the home straight when pure calm is best for 400mH.

@@decaDBZ It's the TRACK EVENT of the Olympics..The only thing that could steal its shine. Is Bromell winning the 100M with a sub 9.70 time going clear 2nd of alltime. Which is possible. But other than that. This is the real blue ribbon event in Tokyo. And I'm sure the world record is going again. Benjamin needs to press hard. And we will see what happens.

Incredible race, congrats to all 👏 The fact that Warholm is white in a sport dominated by black athlets shows that success is not just a matter of inherited genes, but it comes with persiverance, sacrifice, "desparetion to success".

Rai Benjamin is faster than Warholm in 400m flat, but Warholm is greatest when you put hurdles in between.

Not to be uggly on great performances, but Warholm is NOT an imported person to Norway. He IS Norwegian. Tired of all those imported athletes that cant speak the language - the nation they perform for....
