1 hour long , erudite discussion with 49 years old Prof of Economics Murlidharan of University California San Diego ,ex Hony Adviser NITI who is discussing his recently published book titled "Accelerating India's Development, with focus on States led initiatives to improve Governance" . This discussion, is brilliant and is notable for its focus on : 1 .What respective States can do to improve Governance , improve outcomes and accelerate growth without necessarily increasing expenditure / budgets . 2 .The discussion gives good insight on what politicians/ civil servants can do to improve outcomes in Health, Education sectors and the Factors of production in the respective States . The discussion should be useful especially for serving civil servants, including young officers . The interviewer too is good .

Great conversation and really tangible ideas. Hope some governing politicians take them and try to improve productivity to uplift the quality of life of their population.

The PM of the day, has access to level of expertise needed to bring about economic transformation. The challenge is in selling those policies politically. Case in point, agricultural reforms.

Even if there are around 50 Muslim-majority countries, Sheikh Hasina of Muslim-dominated Bangladesh chooses the Hindu-majority country Bharath for her safety. So-called peaceful community will always remain peaceful. Save the Hindus in Bangladesh

The problem is that even with rhetoric...most majority want to convert india into a sharia shithole...its same like the communist from kerala and bengal who preach communist ideology after running their states to the ground...

K.M. should have added Dr.S Swamy of Tamil Nadu to this discussion.

What nonsense. It's an author's independent study. He has every right to present his own inferences without someone's personal bias. You, as the audience, should be able to listen to opposing views.

Very basic conversation about mundane stuff everyone know about it, nothing new or concrete. It’s useful if you have not been living in India and think let me tell people here what leads to productivity etc. good to listen if you don’t know basic economic principles. Not really insightful about anything.
