Trying out a new camera angle. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use this angle during races. I hope it'll help with instructional videos in the future. But for now, check out a busy morning practice around GoPro Motorplex.

A great view mate, well placed camera. I'm still trying to work out a mount, having a chin spoiler limits options, plus not legal in Aust to have a go pro mount stuck to a helmet especially a FIA/SNELL approved lid.

Cambox is a option
@AFFMotorsport2 жыл бұрын
@Wes OKT It is an option, not sure I want to spend $745 on one, that I can not use in a race, and reduce my vision (60mm visor opening). But an interesting option. Might use an old helmet in practice and make mount a go-pro with a strap mount.
@northwestrider3699 ай бұрын
I have a video from there from many years ago. 2014 I believe. Maybe even 2013. I never raced, just went after work for practice days. It is great the way they structure rentals/owners so you can run any day of the week. Most tracks are race events only for owner karts. I kind of understand the “adding a camera to the helmet can compromise it’s safety” argument, but I think a chin mount camera should be allowed.

@@NorbergNation I also used to run OTK stuff I really loved how the chassis flex was and how the kart liked to be driven. It's a kart that almost steers itself. And as you can see with the center of the frame being a bit softer really helps with those nasty curbs at Go Pro.

Great video mate, one question tho would you run a angled steering boss and a adult wheel on a junior or cadet for better control?
@filipniemkiewicz10262 жыл бұрын
I dont have much knowledge on an angaled steering wheel, but I know that a larger steering wheel can help if the driver struggles to turn the wheel. So in turn this could increase the drives control of the kart. But, this could make the driver begin to turn the wheel too much, and develop a bad driving habit. Something you can only find out with testing. I would maybe try some chassis tuning first or even some driver conditioning. That way its cheaper, and more beneficial in the long run.
@NorbergNation2 жыл бұрын
I probably would not. The wheels are all designed for the specific chassis.

@@olivierpiatek1897 The move wasnt necesarily dirty, just the actions of the driver were dumb, especially if they were driving in the junior class like their number showed, 'racing' against a senior driver in practive. You'd have to watch the video lol. He described this exact situation in the video, but here it was even worse because, mans got passed, then did an over under, then just let him by right after, IN PRACTICE, that was just a waste of time.

Love this angle! I was just wondering. How long do you usually keep a chassis? I have a 7 year old Margay which I started with this year and I am struggling to find consistent grip in the front. Do you think I should invest in an upgrade or keep trying with the old one and learn more since I am new to the karting scene?
@NorbergNation2 жыл бұрын
I would probably invest in a new one. At an entry level, if you race a lot, getting a new kart every year is good. If you don't race a lot, every year or so the frame should be upgraded to a new or less used frame.
