Sir, Thank you for sharing. Very helpful as I decide what filters to use. I would appreciate the bland gloves you were wearing at the end of the video, which allows for your thumb and first finger to be exposed when needed. THANKS!

Hi Wayne, can you leave the adapter ring on and still be able to fit the lens hood?

Hi Mike, on the lens I was using yes you can - the lens hood fitted on as usual.

Hi Wayne, Mark from Dingwall. Thanks again for your talk the other evening. Quick question on the magnetic filters; I don’t know if that’s the 10-24 you’re shooting with, but do you find you get any vignetting when shooting ultra-wide? I’m just wondering whether that magnetic adapter ring has the effect of bringing the filters forward.

Hi Mark, no problem it was nice to meet you and everyone else. Glad you found an answer to your question! I'll just add that as I probably mentioned in another comment, it's worth considering purchasing larger filters than you need if you want to stack filters.

Hello Wayne, thank you for this nice and very instructive video. The location is beautiful. I am only wondering if there isn't a bit of blue cast in the first picture, compared to the video of the same scene just before. I have been using relatively good but less expensive Hoya ND and CPL filters and was quite surprised by the blue cast on clouds that I get in days like the one you where shooting in. One can get rid of it in post, but it is sometimes painful and rather get a filter set that is really neutral with colors. Cheers, Tony
@WayneRobertsonPhotography
@WayneRobertsonPhotography 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Antonia I’m glad you enjoyed my video. I don’t have the video and photos to hand to check what you describe but the filters are marketed as having no colour cast and they are as neutral filters as I have tried. I suspect the difference you are seeing is due to video being shot on a different camera versus my editing of a RAW image including WB to taste. I don’t try to get video and photos matching exactly. Hope that helps.

Hi Wayne, glad you liked the filter set they seem very simplistic, mine are still in the case unused at the moment. Was hoping to get a chance at Easter but that is on the back burner at the moment. What about your new tripod have you been using it? Fiona
@WayneRobertsonPhotography
@WayneRobertsonPhotography 4 жыл бұрын
Fiona Barnie Hi Fiona, yes I’m very pleased with the filters, both their quality and how the kit works. I’ve used my tripod briefly indoors and this video was my first time using it outdoors. So it’s not had a lot of use yet but so far I really like it. It seems well made and sturdy so I think it will fit my needs really well. The long exposure shots came out very sharp - first impressions are that it’s been a good buy. Hope you are staying safe in these difficult times, take care.

Very good video about the Kase system....thanks. I am considering this kit for my Fuji X-T3 too and wanted to ask about the set up. It seems to be quite a bulk in front of the lens, does this cause any vignette with the 77mm system?
@WayneRobertsonPhotography
@WayneRobertsonPhotography 3 жыл бұрын
I had no vignette issues at 16mm with the kit I had using a single filter. Stacking filters can be a slight issue if shooting really wide. You can purchase a larger kit if you intend stacking filters.

Hi, Is it possible to shoot sunset with the polariser and ND filter.
@WayneRobertsonPhotography
@WayneRobertsonPhotography 3 жыл бұрын
I’d suggest it’s best not to use a polariser if shooting towards the sun at sunset.

Hi Wayne, thanks for the video - great images by the way. Like you I shoot largely with the 16-55mm lens, and I'm looking at the 77mm filter set. Do you find you get much vignetting at 16mm with the polariser and 1 ND attached? Hope you don't mind we asking. Cheers
@WayneRobertsonPhotography
@WayneRobertsonPhotography 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Nigel, thanks for watching and for your comment. There is a small amount of vignetting at 16mm with polariser and one ND, it's not terrible but it does exist.

@@WayneRobertsonPhotography Many thanks Wayne, really appreciate the reply - getting to try anything at the menu is a pain with all the covid restrictions. If it's a level you can comfortably address in LR, I'll probably go with the 77mm. The larger ones are just going to add bulb and swamp the other lenses. Cheers
@WayneRobertsonPhotography
@WayneRobertsonPhotography 4 жыл бұрын
I understand it's difficult to test things at the moment. You can definitely work on the vignette a bit in Lightroom, also if it's an option you can shoot to crop a little. Larger filters would be the best fix and would eliminate the problem but I didn't want to go that route either.

What about with only polarizer? Do you get any vignetting at 16 mm?
@nigelcooke1064
@nigelcooke1064 2 жыл бұрын
@@21lottel I can 'force' a vignette of I use an ND and polariser and take a bright image (eg fill the frame with sky!) but in the real world I don't notice any issues, especially with a single filter attached

You had shown a step up 72-77mm magnetic adapter so the filters are obviously 77mm. Is there a 77-77mm magnetic adapter included too? Do you also have an UV filter?
@WayneRobertsonPhotography
@WayneRobertsonPhotography 4 жыл бұрын
My kit is the 77mm version but you can get other sizes too, the kit does come with a magnetic adapter ring (77mm in my case), you must buy other rings as required. There is no UV filter in the kit.

Hi Wayne, When using both the polarizer and ND filter at 10mm of your XF 10-24mm, is there any vignetting. IS there any reason you bought 72mm instead of 77mm even though the filter size of XF10-24mm is 72mm? Cheers Joseph

Hi Wayne, are you missing the ability to use graduated filters with this kit (for correcting over-exposed sky for example), or would you say that this is something you can live with by correcting in post?
@WayneRobertsonPhotography
@WayneRobertsonPhotography 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Gordon. I’m not missing graduated filters - I’ve found I’ve been able to handle any situation using the dynamic range of my camera or by taking multiple exposures and blending them using software. That said I do think there are situations that are better suited to physical graduated filters (e.g. scenes with movement), and scenes where it’s better not to use graduated filters and get better results by relying on the methods I mentioned.

Still using the Lee System I am not convinced by anything else because they all have their own intrinsic problems. I have Lee wide angle adapters on all my lenses with the Lee lens caps this means I can quickly use the filters without the faff of constanly screwing and unscrewing adaptors and stepup/down rings. I use 2 holders with one having the CP permanently attached and the other free if I want an unpolarised filtered image. I have thought about changing but whats the point of incurring extra cost with extra problems to achieve basically the same outcome. My advice is stick with the system you have and make it simpler to use if you can.
@awhyu1974
@awhyu1974 4 жыл бұрын
The Kase Magnetic circular does exactly that, you have various magnetised stepdown rings to the largest filter diameter size which you would leave on the lenses and then there is a magnetised cap to fit over each ring, the difference is you can then remove the CPL very easily as its magnetic. Obviously some people prefer to grad, but for a very light weight system which is not dependent on bulky holders or a very large CPL, its perfect, as it all fits into your coat pocket. Unlike the LEE resin filters, the glass repels water quite well As if you wanted to use a CPL with the LEE, you must always have a holder attached even if you dont use the grads.
