if you tested all the different masking fluids, and the paper still tears, it stands to reason the weak link in the chain is your paper, no? part of why your paper tears could be that you arent using high quality paper.

Once again you excel and show us how to get the illustration done! I wish you had better luck with the masking fluid, Maybe your not using it thick enough? I just do not seem to have the troubles you do. I use "incredible white mask frisket" and "Masquepen" from the UK. and they just rub off. Something I love about your art is the amount of texture you put into it. You have a very simple style, and usually do some simple illustrations (with a small focal point, as you mentioned on your past video), yet there is a wide range of textures: stripes, dots, fur, grass,etc. It looks consistent and very niece. I played around with masking fluid during inktober to learn how it works and I found out you can't use anything wet or oily, like your fingers, to remove it. I tried a few things and the best thing I found was the back of a mechanical pencil (the plastic bit, not the kind that has an eraser). The fact that it pushes in makes it easier to remove it because you go slower and the edge makes it lift easier and it's obviously dry so you don't end up ripping your paper.
